Some time ago I ordered a percussion Kentucky pistol kit from Dixie Gun Works. It turned out very nicely and I have had a hoot shooting it but then my mind started wandering (with a lot of help from this section) so I finally bit when I saw this kit in flint. I hope it turns out as nice as the pistol, but now I have more motivation to make my own powder......

I've got to order the chems and find a 16 mesh screen at Lowes or somewhere and I'll be copying Brushhippie's videos to make my own. I don't even own a flinter, but pyrodex is a bit balky to ignite even in sidelock cappers. Besides, it's the next step in this hobby for me. I've cast bullets for years, got a "tap o cap" for cap production. Now, it's time to make the powder. :D

Anyway, welcome to the addiction. There is no black-a-non, ya know. Once addicted to black powder shooting, you're just a junky. It's what Cabelas counts on to get rich. :D
