Suggestion for Detective Special Paddle Holster

Hello,
I am specifically interested in a leather, lined, thumb release retention strap with a paddle, not anything fancy. Not seeing any yet. Thanx.

Have you tried ebay? The DS has been out of production for over a decade now.

Are you set on a paddle holster? Bianchi makes their Size 01 which fits the DS along with other small framed revolvers, but the fit isn't exact. The leather specifically for the DS is traditional, which means no paddles. Lined leather is even harder to come by.

Hey Cosmoline,
I was thinking I would prefer the paddle for ease of getting it off and on quickly. No undoing your belt or such. Also have thought of a good IWB with two snapped leather belt supports, but they are mucho money and much more time to wait. Unless you have any ideas floating around there. Thanks for the response and idea.

I just looked on their site and couldn't find a Model 01.

The Galco Speed Paddle fits most of your requirements. It does not have a thumb break and it isn't lined. I have one I use for both a Ruger SP101 and a Colt DSII. Most holsters made for the SP101 will fit a Colt D frame such as the DSII or your Detective Special.

Try the Bianchi Hip Hugger. I think they made one to fit your DS, but they may be out of production

Thanks PotatoJudge for the suggestion, but the Bianchi site doesn't show it in production. Oh well.

NVMM, I believe that would be larger than the Detective Special, thank though.

I'm not surprised. Without going to a full custom job, it is unlikely you will find that combination of features in a single holster. The Don Hume H720 would seem to come closest. It is leather (the part the gun goes in; the paddle is plastic) with a thumb break, but no lining.
