Not sure if this is more of a holster question or a carry dilemma. I very rarely carry concealed now, but kind of want to start again part-time, partly so that I'm in practice if the need arises. I realize this isn't sound tactics, and the need can arise suddenly, but this is dictated by current work situation and not negotiable (at this time).

I like 1911s, and have several. I have older holsters (Sparks SS-II) for an officers' and a full sized 1911. They work OK, even with the full size grip, if I get the cant just right (4 o'clock, maybe 30-40 degree cant so the grip tucks in behind my hip bone). Two problems -- one is that I can't get the belt (good gun belt) tight enough to keep the cant there, it rocks a little and the grip rotates out enough to print more than I would like as I sit and stand throughout the day. Second problem is that I've become known as a guy the buys used 1911s and I recently acquired a Ruger lightweight commander that I don't have a holster for, and am considering a Kimber which is yet a fourth barrel length.

It seems that a holster such as the Crossbreed Supertuck would solve both of these problems in that I could let the extra barrel length protrude beyond the kydex. I realize the mantra is "carry the same gun in the same place all of the time", but I'm not yet ready to commit (and don't have the budget to get a good holster every time I pick up a new gun).

So, I had kind of made my mind up to buy the supertuck, or a similar for the 1911s, and I would like opinions on that plan (Given that I have my own reasons to not carry at work, so we're part-time at best, and that's not really negotiable).

I also have a smaller 9mm (Ruger SR9C) which I'm comfortable with, which might be more pleasurable to carry all day in a good holster. I haven't shot this as much as the 1911s, but would exercise it more if it became a carry gun. I don't have any good holster for this one (just an uncle mike's it kind of fits for range use). I also have two Taurus pistols that have proven reliable, one a little over the officers size (PT145 Millennium Pro) and another (think it's a 24/7, slide has same dimensions, the larger mags fit the smaller gun but hang way out). These give me more 45 goodness in similar but slightly larger packages, and might be able to share a Crossbreed (or similar) holster. I took the the internets last night to see if this was true and found out that both of these had probably been recalled, and the replacement for the smaller pistol is of different dimensions and probably wouldn't be able to share a holster with the replacement for the larger.

So, if I'm going to buy one good holster to get started, which would you suggest? Not limited to a "supertuck", but liking the idea of multiple similar guns in one holster.

Thanks,

Thanks for the advice. I did get the Foxx, and first impressions are good. Good company to deal with, showed up when promised, etc. I've never actually touched the competitors product, so can't really compare but the holster looks good to me.
