Found one of these little guys NIB a few months ago, decided to snag it up for $325. I know, a little high for what they are, but that's the market these days, and well-loved ones hadn't been going for a whole lot less.

At any rate, I don't have much time for personal stuff, so it took me about 6 months to get around to threading it. They're a little different from a typical thread job, since the frames are cast around the barrels, making them permanent. I had to fixture it on the mill, face, drill & tap the 3/8-28 threads for my male-male adapters. But it's done now, and it's a fun little host! Despite some claims of poor reliability, this one runs great with the American Eagle 45 gr Suppressor ammo and CCI standard velocity, pretty much the only two types of ammo I run in .22 hosts.

My Salamander model is a perfect fit for the small pistol, too. At 3/4" diameter, 5" long and 2.5 ounces, the weight is a non-issue, and the small OD allows the tiny sights of the TP-22 to remain functional.

I have a TP-22, I bought it 33 years ago at Bucksport Sporting Goods in Eureka, Ca. Ive shot that little gun a lot over the decades. :)

I will say that gun is pretty loud for a .22, its a good candidate for a suppressor. But, with the barrel/frame attachment I never thought the little barrel could be threaded. You certainly have some amazing talent to do so!

Let us know how well it shoots suppressed vs unsuppressed when you get a chance :).

Stay safe.

Had an Iver Johnson TP22 years ago. Decent little .22 that was relatively inexpensive and fairly reliable most of the time. Traded it in for a Beretta Model 21A.

I have owned two of those. The first one I shot the hell out of it and the second one not as much and I can't remember ever having a single malfunction with them. The big caution is to always make sure the mag is out before you pull down the trigger guard because the trigger guard pivoits back into the mag well and if the mag is in place you can break the frame where the trigger guard hinges. And I don't think there is a way to repair that kind of damage.

Your gun looks great with the suppressor on it.

Thomas T, not that familiar with the TP, but do have a Walther TPH, upon which it is based.
You are exactly right about the arrangement of the magazine and triggerguard for the Walther. The domestic ones have steel frames, so perhaps they aren't as susceptible to actually breaking.
Local shop had a couple TPs for sale, and I've been sorry not to have snagged one. Neat little gun.

Actually I believe the Iver Johnson TP22 was derived from the Erma-Werke EP 552, itself a copy of the Walther PPK. Due to the limits of the GCA68, the small EP 552 didn't have enough points to be imported. So Erma-Werke provided the slides and various other parts and Iver Johnson had them assembled here in the .U.S. with American manufactured receivers.
