Hello y'all. Dad and I have our SOT so we ordered a Silencerco Hybrid 46M and I found out Fulton Armory sells a 5/8x24 adapter that replaces the gas cylinder lock on the M1 so I ordered that and a Geissele 7.62 suppressor alignment gauge. We got a Silencerco ASR muzzle brake (it's actually a 338 cal funny enough) in this week so I put them on and the gauge freely moves in and out of the barrel and muzzle brake.
I have a Schuster adjustable gas plug also. The Fulton Armory adapter is actually decent and seems to become fairly snug when you tighten the gas plug all they way down. I can't wiggle it with my hands so we'll have to test when the suppressor comes in.... It's been about two weeks so far...

Sounds fun I’m worried about the pressure required to operate the action though what measures are you taking to make sure that happens

I have the Shuster adjustable gas plug. I will say that in my specific M1 I run it heavily greased with red axle grease and I also had to turn the plug screw in all the way to cycle Greek HXP ball... Also the 46M has a 46 cal bore diameter so backpressure should be minimal...

Good move -- I was going to suggest the Schuster.

I just got a package from Fulton yesterday with some M14/M1A stripper clip guides or 'spoons' I ordered.

That's pretty awesome, I didn't know such a gadget existed. I don't think I'd want to risk one of my .30 cap cans on that kind of alignment system, another reason that I need to pick up a big bore rifle can I guess. Looking forward to hearing how it works out once you get the Hybrid 46 in.

Ok we finally got the Hybrid 46M in!

The suppressor alignment rod doesn't touch the end cap even with me moving the rod a bit and the weight of the suppressor does cause it (the gas cylinder lock thread adaptor) to slightly droop but it's still not touching the end cap. So I say it should be fine. This will always have the 46cal end cap on it so it should be good to go. I do want to maybe try to find a shim or something to put under the thread adaptor as it seems like it's not quite tight enough against the gas lock with the gas plug tightened down pretty good. That will probably help with the alignment even more. I'm thinking a muzzle device shim would work?
Edit, I went and found a CMP fourm page saying it is OK to use a mallet to tighten the gas cylinder lock if it bottoms close to the desired position. It seems way tighter now with the suppressor on it. We'll see how it shoots soon. The alignment rod goes through everything ok still. I actually checked and my alignment rod is actually bent in the middle so idk. Geissele 30cal suppressor alignment gauge...
