I've not heard anything on the legal age required to buy suppressors in MA, and if they're even legal. I've checked firearmslawcenter.com without any luck.

Why am I posting in this forum? Mostly because I want to buy a supressed .300 Whisper built on a Model 70 action from SSK Industries and I want to know if I can legally get such a beast.

I wonder if they can make a suppressed .300 Whisper semi-auto from an AR-15 upper?

Here's one page, dated 2001:
http://www.titleii.com/Bardwell/nfa_faq.txt
It says no to silencers (look down near the bottom) but could be incorrect now.

-Yes, they can, and do: the 300 Whisper uses a 223 case and length, it was made specifically to be the best possible silenced caliber that would fit through a Colt EBR.

Dunno...

Bardwell's NFA FAQ says no. The MA laws don't mention them. And this attorney,
We deal with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms on behalf of dealers and individuals on matters of National Firearms Act transfers, licensing matters involving gun transfers, machine gun and silencer (suppressor) registration and all pistol, rifle and shotgun matters.

sure makes it sound like they are legal. We need an NFA collector from MA to chime in.
