Does anybody know of a "holster" type thing sized to fit a Surefire type flashlight?

I've looked and haven't seen anything like that. Closest thing I could find was an OC holster that was quite a bit too big.

Surely there is some better way than just a hip pocket ...?

thanks, TP

There is a slew of 'em. Surefire proper has a variety, from hard carriers to nylon to leather, then most every major handgun leather maker has some, as do many kydex makers.

Are you looking for a particular style or kind?

TallPine.. I have found the BBC or Big Bag Company...out of El Monte Ca. works great....depends on the surefire model...but the pepper spray pockets work great....top closure, heavy nylon web material, belt loop and not expensive. Check a police supply shop, or military surplus. If you can't find the BBC...drop me a PM.

Just something simple ... what I had in mind was a cordura-type pouch that slides on a belt and has a velco flap.

Cabela's doesn't have anything like that in their catalogue even though they have a large variety of flashlights. Walmart used to have a wide selection of various little pouches to fit cell-phones and cameras and whatever that I figured I could find one that would work for a few bucks, but as always they have dropped all of that and used the space for something else. :(

I'm kind of in a time bind now as it was primarily for my daughter who is moving out of state real soon. I got her one of those Brinkman Maxfires so she could have a bright light that she could carry everywhere.

Surefire will have what you want though it'll be pricey, as will Uncle Mike's.

Their is a line of pouches called Ripoffs from the Reeline company that I have a number of that are high quality and less expensive. I have a number of them and really like them

What model Surefire do you have? I tried carrying on the belt a looong time ago and much prefer a model with a pocket clip.

I use the Wilson Combat carrier that holds a Surefire/clone and a spare mag, but they also make a leather(or sharkskin) carrier just for the light.

I still can't believe what they charge for a little bit of cordura and velcro.

The "holster" for my 2-D Maglite is a short piece of nylon boot lace, doubled and tied in a hard knot. I "larks head" this around my belt (2") and slip the maglite down in the resulting loop. The bell on the bulb end keeps it from sliding all the way through. :)

The only reason that I haven't used this method with the Maxfire is that it is so light and I'm afraid I will lose it - you know when you do or do not have a 2D Maglite hanging on your belt.

I just may try to figure how to make something for the Maxfire ...

You could carry the Thunder Ranch Tactical Illumination System™ with innovative Tiger Ring™ and just leave it hanging on your hand all day and night  :p :D Saves on buying holsters.... And it sounds cool as heck, too.

Hope y'all know I'm just havin' a little fun. No criticisms intended.

I have the 6P and a polycarbonate holster on at all times I'm clothed. I've been "made" several times in a long shirt, ppl think I'm CCW'ing, even though I'm not (yet). Even had one cop come up and question me quietly, I commended him on how he handled it. His hand stayed near his sidearm, but he was polite and asked what the bulge was on my left hip. :p

The Blackhawk/CQC folks make a nice light holder that clips on the belt. Made of carbon fiber, you can get it in any color you like, as long as you like black that is.

dude. the maxfire is a 20 dollar light and you want to spend 35 to carry it?
