Hi guys!

For a long time now, I have been searching all over the web for a good tactical light. I have browsed streamlight, pelican and other lights, but I think I have fallen in love with surefire´s GZ2 Nitrolon (the nra´s official version). It looks like a really cool light, and if the lumen are as high as advertised, it may proove to be a fine light.

Do you have any comments or experiences with this light??Would you reccomend any other surefire??Which???Why?

Thanks a lot,and remember, be gentle because this is my first time....:p

1) Check out Candlepowerforums.com

They know more about flashlights than we know about guns. It's almost wierd. :uhoh:

2) That is a fine light, but if you're willing to spend a bit more, I think you should get the L4.

Why?

- It is an LED instead of an incandescent. This has the advantages of:

a) Being virtually unbreakable, where incan bulbs are rather shock-sensitive

b) Practically never burns out; LEDs have thousands and thousands of hours of life

c) More natural, smoother, higher quality light output.

d) Don't have to buy replacement bulbs at about $20 a pop.

e) You're just about guaranteed to have the thing work when you need it. Don't get me wrong; incans, especially Surefires, are incredibly reliable, but an LED from Surefire is just that much MORE reliable. :)

The L4 is truly an amazing tool and it is with me 24/7. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.

They are around $120 or so. Again, look on CPF and you can find one lightly used or NIB for about $120 or less.

Good luck!

I've had my G2Z for almost 2 years now. Still on the orignal bulb. It's been taken backpacking, on vacation, Flys with me on every business trip, and hides under the be next to the gun vault when at home. It's been through a ton of batteries, but I'm still on the original bulb. For the money, I think it's one of the best values in the surefire line that has a steped down body.

If you don't need the reduced diameter body, Get the G2. It is only about $30 and everything I said about my G2Z applies to my wife's G2.

When she opened it at Christmas, her comment was, "Awesome!--you got me my own cool flashlight!"

I've noticed my batteries lasting longer now that she has her own.

Good luck--it it a great light.
