surplus sig225 accuracy

As accurate an any new sig (or maybe more considering how the company has gone into the toilet as far as QC is concerned). I have 2 and love them. From all accounts, even the ones with lots of holster wear have pristine internals. Like most police guns they were carried regularly and never shot.

I've put ~1000rds through mine since I first got it a few months ago. It shoots dead center point of aim a long as I do my job, so the accuracy is definitely good enough.

About the 225,

My local gun shop had some German PD "trade in" 225's in, and the salesman told me the gun would shoot great, only problem would be getting new parts for it like grips.

Is this exactly true, like impossible or just wait times in general?

Thank you,
RFB

CAveman, I've had mine for over two years now, and the more I shoot her the more I like it. The P225 IMHO is one of the finest single stack 9MM's out there!!!! You could do alot worse, but not much better!!! Get it you won't be sorry!

I picked up a P6/P225 a couple of months ago. It was definitely zeroed for the previous owner and did not shoot point of aim for me. It also had a weird combo of sights (numbers) on it. It wasnt a big deal for me, as I was going to replace them with night sights anyway.

Top Gun Supply is the place to go if you want parts, or anything else for your SIG's. I picked up one of the new spring kits and a couple of new mag springs. I also got a new, P225 mainspring. The P6's DA trigger is heavy, and not like your normal SIG DA trigger. The P225 spring corrects this.

Top Gun also has the SIG armorers CD, which is a must have. Its the best $20 I spent.

My P6 came in today and I'm going to give it my first dance tomorrow. I shot the used P226 I bought this week for the first time today - very accurate and a natural pointer. First mag was on target and it usually takes me a while to get the feel of a new gun. I'm impressed...
