Ide take a 52 if you can get it, the 55 barrel idea is stupid, and locking lugs are a good thing.

You can't go wrong with a CZ 452. Outstanding and accurate rifle that's a lot of fun to shoot.

I have several of both, and both are very accurate. If you want a 452 you should go ahead and get it since they said several years ago they were out of production;) There are still plenty to buy. The 455 will be around for a long time. The good thing is you can have 3 barrels with one rifle. I have .22's and .17's both very accurate.

Fella's;

I will say that with the advent of the CZ 452 Grand Finale, I sincerely do think that the end of that line has been reached. Yes, for some relatively short time you'll be able to find an NIB 452 though probably at a premium price. There are at this time still new 452's available from outfits like Whittaker's and Bud's, but they aren't under $400.00 any more. For that you'd have to scour the earth to find the small LGS that just wants to get rid of it & good luck with that. For the next couple of years maybe the left handed 452's will be easier to find, but that well will run dry too. I think all the LH 452's have been made, it's just a matter of time & sales volume before the last NIB of those is gone also.

I vote 452 American , just a nice .22 rifle with a great reputation for accuracy . The wood on mine is just beautiful .

My 452 arrived early this week, and I had time to get it to the range (indoor, 25 yard max) today. My oldest went along. We actually had a good day with 22's - she has a Henry, and I took along a Remington 552 as well. The CZ is stunningly accurate, even with open sights. The center red area of the target is about 2 inches in diameter, and the worst shot (we ran about 20 rounds through it) missed that by less than 1/2 inch (that was us - not the gun). The vast majority of the rounds hit in a group about an inch tall and 1/2 inch wide. I really wanted (and still do) the open sights, but I have to confess that a tip-off scope may be under consideration. All in all, very happy.
