I "believe" the Swiss GP11 surplus ammo is reloadable
No, GP11 are Berdan primered. But here in Switzerland nobody reload GP11. Because we use subsidized ammo from swiss federal government. And reloading component will cost more the our army stuff.

Wow, a real Swiss citizen.

What sort of price do you pay over there for it? I heard its at government cost...

I'm just curious if Swiss costs are as cheap as American costs to shoot.

My K31 is easily the most accurate milsurp i own. Only the Swedish mausers can really challenge it. I love it, even if they are really touchy about cartridge OAL, especially with American .308 bullets which are shaped different than the needle-like bullets in their GP-11 match ammo.

Best banger for the buck in milsurps, hands down, but the prices are starting to climb lately.

I could not agree more. I think my Swiss have a slight accuracy advantage over the Swedes although I find the Swedes more pleasant to shoot. I have one Swede 38 ( mod 96) cut down by arsenal, and it is the same length as my K-31's although a bit older, a 1900 model. I do find it to be a slimmer handier rifle through the action area and a fine rifle but not quite as precise as the Swiss in every aspect.

A word of warning though. If you are a tall with a long neck the thumb ring will smack you right below the right eye!

im 6.6 and have never had it smack me,
never even thought about it doing this till this was posted.:uhoh:

If you are a tall with a long neck the thumb ring will smack you right below the right eye! I am about 5' 10" and of average build and that ring just barely misses hitting me if I maintain a proper cheek weld while cycling the bolt. BE CAREFUL! This is NOT a tall man's rifle.

I'm 6'1" sleeve length 36" and a fairly long neck and have never had a problem.

We get orderly ammunition at official ranges at government cost of CHF 0.40 it's approx USD 0.39 each rifle round. Rifle round means GP11(7.5x55) and GP90(swiss version of 5.56x45 with a 63 grains bullet)
Commercial 7.5x55 would sell for the double price at gun shop.
Lump sum price for all Pistol round, 9x19 and 7.65Parabellum are CHF 10 for 24 rounds.
You can get 9x19 much cheaper at gun shop. But 7.65Parbellum for the good old swiss Parbellum pistol are hard to find these days!

check out allen's armory on the web. just received one from him. very nice and for $10, ships in a hard case. also, this one had a soldiers ID info under the but plate. some charge extra for this. he grades the butt stocks as they do get worn.

really ? the official price is 0.35CHF, and that is what I pay for it. I guess that your shooting society is preleving something on it.

0.35chf is the official price for every military round. 7,65para, 9mm para, GP90, and GP11.

edit: you are right, the GP90 bullet is 63grains.

Thats cheaper than in the US!

As Tapioca said, that's the main reason :

Because we use subsidized ammo from swiss federal government

now, if you go out there, and want to buy some 30-06 or 308, you will have to spend 4 or 5 times that ammount of money.

buy one, buy ammo for it, buy a bayonet before the prices jump again, and why not buy a helmet too

my 1944 with bayonet and one of my 2 M18-40 helmets

The local Big 5 stores sold them around here some years back for $99 on sale. I had a friend who read about how accurate they were and he went to several stores to pick out a nice one. He told me about them and I though for the price I would look into them. In the meantime he gets a call that his sale was denied by the DOJ because his driver's license was expired. He didn't notice nor did the salesman during the paperwork stage. He asked if they would credit him the registration fee since the salesman didn't notice the expired license....no chance. He was so pissed he never completed the deal. I went the next time they went on sale again at Big 5 and got one....he's still pissed about that.
