Not the lightest, but the Springfield XDS 3.3 in 45 might be something to consider.
Mine is fairly pleasant to shoot ( I don't shoot +P) for about 50 rounds or so. Surprisingly accurate. Relatively small but not light. Reasonably priced.

The Glock 30 has a good reputation but is too large for my hands. mike
Why does G30 have to be too large to fit smaller hand? Did they stop making sand paper?

I have a S&W M396 NG, 6shot scandium 44Spcl tritium front sight, that weighs ~22oz. It can also be carried on the trail with WFNs. :)

Would LOVE one.....just can't afford a $1000. revolver right now so I'll probably get the Charter Bulldog

The kahr is the lightest and best feeling and would love to hear from owners.

I own a CW9 that never has worked right from day one. A firearm shouldn't fall apart to where it is completely non functional after a mere 600 rounds like my Kahr.

Small forty-fives

Had a PM45 that someone else wanted more than I did so sold it. Nothing at all wrong with that tiny .45... Bought an XDs .45 after that and then bought another just to have two.

They shoot where I point them and they are my favorite tiny .45

Charter Bulldog in .44 Special. Weighs 20oz.
I would agree with this, since you are a revolver guy. I've had a 4" target Bulldog since 1978 & it has been my companion for many miles & kept me company in some pretty lonely places.

I'll throw in another vote for Kahr. I had a CW45 but they now have the smaller CM45. I have had over a half dozen Kahrs and all shot well and were reliable, and yes sometimes lemons are sold and when someone gets one you never stop hearing about how bad Kahr is but of the ones I've owned, all have been great.

I currently have a CM40 and CW380, the CM40 is big firepower for a small gun, under 16oz and less than 1" thick and quite controllable, can even fit in the pocket.

ruger sp101. I carried a 1911 colt for 45 years and finally retired it. now I carry a sp101 with crimson trace grips. yes it is only 5 shot but with practice and the laser if I need more rounds, to bad. have never needed more than 3 before and don't expect to need more now.

I had an M325. It was 24 oz...same weight as my 3" alloy 1911, but held two fewer rounds, was slower to reload, and I did not shoot it as well (recoiled significantly more) so I sold it. Don't miss it a bit. Still have the 3" alloy 1911.

You might want to re-count the holes in the cylinder. I had a 396 and a 696. Frame material apart, they were both L-frame 5-shot .44Spls. See below:

I have owned and carried a Kahr P45 for several years. 18.5 oz empty, smaller than most (Kahr PM45 and maybe XDs excepted). Smooth shooting, reliable, accurate. I love my 1911s but carry the Kahr. I had a PM45 for a short while. Not "smaller enough" and only 5+1, and a good bit "barkier". I did not shoot it as well. ....sold it shortly thereafter to a friend who loves it and caries it daily. To each, his own.

I had an M325 for a while. It was a really nice revolver, but at 24 oz, it was the same weight as my 3" alloy 1911, but held two fewer rounds, was slower to reload (and let's not even get into how fat a speed loader in .45 acp is in your pocket). And I did not shoot it as well (recoiled significantly more) so I sold it. Don't miss it a bit. Still have the 3" alloy 1911. :)
