I recently bought a used T/C 32 H&R Contender barrel off an ebay estate sale, but it will not fit onto my frame. Having some barrels be a tight fit is nothing unusual for the Encore and Contender, but this one doesn't quite line up and the pin won't go in. The frame is a G1 frame.

I assume that this is something i have to send to someone to fix. Does anyone have any suggestions or are there perhaps some details I should look for on the barrel? Or do I just cut my losses and sell it off with a warning to the next person?

Thanks.

If it's a newer G2 Contender barrel, they don't fit the older G1 frame's, unless some adjustment. It seams that some people have had luck with both model's. I've always wanted a Contender G2, just never picked one up. Now sticking with my 5 Encore frame's and about 13 various barrels, since the T/C line was dropped. Maybe this will help.

I have only had one bbl lug where the hinge pin was tight. My pin also had about zero bevel to help start/align it.
Easy fix. Still gotta tap it out w a punch though. Other bbls Ive had could remove pin w finger or minor bump.

I had a G1 frame and all my barrels fit it. I had to send it to TC because it would open when you fired it. They sent me a brand new G2 frame free. One of my barrels (.38 special octagon) locking lugs (solid lug) wouldn’t close. I drifted the lug retaining pin out and filed and stoned (going very slow) and re-fit over and over till it snapped up nice and tight.

I just oiled up my .22 mag 14" bbl and put it in the safe LOL
Had a 4x EER Leupold on it but prefer RDS for hunting.
Haven't even seen a Leupold DPP or Aimpoint Acro P2 in any shops.
