I have a Thompson Center Encore Muzzleloader in .50, and I'd like to change its barrel to a 20 Gauge Turkey Barrel configuration. To do this, would I need to buy a new forend, or just change the barrel? I haven't seen any forend/barrel kits, so it seems like I just need to change the barrel.

You will need a new forend sold seperate from the barrel. To many variations to sell in a kit.

The fore arm attachment spacing on the Muzzle loader barrels is unique to them.

Most of the rifle length centerfire fore arms are interchangeable but not all.

The key is to get the lug spacing for the turkey barrel you want and then find the right fore arm. It may well be that all shotgun barrels are the same spacing but different from both muzzle and centerfire.

You are likely to find someone selling both the shotgun barrel and the forearm. There are two very active Encore/Contender buy/sell communities at Gray Beard Outdoors http://www.go2gbo.com/forums/index.php and Specialty Pistols http://specialtypistols.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/frm/f/7946077864

The great thing about the Encore is that you can go from BP to Centerfire to shotgun all in one day. Very habit forming.
