This is a copy paste of the notice we are posting on all the forums that My partner gets most of his sells from....... the Surplus ammo issue is a serious one and for the sake of the hobby of collecting we are now actively advising people to NOT buy guns from us as we'd rather not be a contributing factor in the ANTIs getting what they want......

----------------------------------------------------

I was talkin to Don earlier at Omega bout some folks tryin to budget in buyin onea the T-53s or Mausers etc.. and his opinion as is mine is at this time if your milsurp buying is on a tight budget ya needa buy Ammo instead and no he doesn't sell any ammo but the way we figure it there will still be rifles in a few months but those rifles won't do much good if ya can't get decent surplus ammo at a decent price so please use the $$ to get the best deal ya can on ammo where ever ya can find it as there is no 7.62x54 or 8 mm mauser comming in and while he has guns to get sold as does every other dealer we'd much rather have folks out actually shooting the guns they already have as this is our biggest defense against those wanting to cut down the number of folks who enjoy shooting milsurp guns and they will succeed that much faster if nobody has ammo to feed those guns......

Many dealers don't want folks to know whats actually happening regarding surplus ammo and the BATF denying form 6s to import anything but commercial "sporting" ammo , I get angry E-mails everyday from these dealers for speakin out bout the issues everyone is having related to Surplus ammo supplies as these dealers have tons of guns to get rid of etc... well we'd rather ya'll load up on ammo while its still available so if your tryin to decide where to put your milsurp dollars please choose the ammo....... we aren't going anywhere and the BATF isn't going to be commin around collectin up all the rifles in the inventory so........... tick off an Anti and buy a couple cases of 7.62x54 or 8 mm mauser while its fairly reasonable..

Why don't either of us sell any ammo? Cause we happen to be our own best customers thats why!!

This same sentiment is extended to those considering having AK pattern rifes, FAL or G3 kits built by myself if your budget is tight then get the reciever and sit on the parts etc... as I can get your build done later, Focus on procuring ammo for the moment please.......

now if ya aren't on a tight budget........... then buy LOTS of T53s and Chinese mausers so Don can buy more ammo LOL :D

THANKS

I know it doesn't do any good at all, but I sent them a nasty email about what they are doing. Maybe they'll have a laugh at my futile declaration~

dstorm, i didnt know you were a fal builder! doh*

everyone, definitely buy lots of ammo right now. 7.62x54r and 8mm mauser is going to be in REALLY tight supply soon.

and the surplus can be kept for pretty much forever. corrosive primers last a heck of a lot longer than nc.

Save your pennies, buy ammo, start to reload. And then, by and by, prices on all those milsurps in the warehouses will start coming down. You never know, this might become an affordable sport again. Now, are there any schemes to dry up the availability of reloading supplies?

Mickmten, they tried already by going through OSHA 2 weeks ago requiring much tighter requirements for hazmat etc... however it was slammed as the proposed regs were already covered by DOT involving transportation next watch for em to attempt a tax on components, IF OSHA had succeeded we woulda seen a huge drop in suppliers as well as a very steep increase in prices to cover the added expense to dealers in complying with the new regs......

Ya do know of course that ya can stockpile more than 50 lbs of powder legally if its not stored at the same location right;)

That is federally as I understand it. Some states differ.
In MD for instance the limit is five pounds

whats the safest way to store, say, 25lbs of powder? i know enought o use the original container, but will it be safe in a hot garage? it gets to be about 125 degrees in there at times.
