I play with a garage band, and I've been wanting to display my affection for guns via a sticker on my guitar. Does anyone have any good ideas or seen a good pro-gunsticker? The reason I am asking is because I'm having a hard time finding a good sticker for a decent price. Included is a picture of the guitar. As of the moment, all of the stickers have been removed. I did post this on TFL, about a week before it closed down, so I am posting it here in hopes that someone may have a better suggestion. I'm not looking for anything provocative, but something witty and clever or just plain cool looking. Any help would be greatly appericiated. I've been looking specifically for Walther stickers and 1911 stickers, but I can't seem to find any, so any help would be greatly appericiate, thank you :-D

Why not a sticker of an 1873 Colt SAA .45 revolver or perhaps a Colt Navy cap-n-ball revolver?

The 1858 Remmington revolver looks really good too!

My all time favorite pro gun bumper sticker is the one that says.
"Ted Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun" But that's not very guitar oriented or kewl looking. I do think that the Molon Labe sticker posted above would be a great idea.

Get yourself an "I am the NRA" sticker so that way the FBI will consider you a member of an extrimist group

I also kinda like the RKBA sticker here http://www.rkbabang.com/

Or you could download one of Oleg's high resolution pics, size it how you want it and have it printed out on a good color printer (Kinkos may be able to help you). Then you put it on the guitar and spray clear polyurethane over it (you may want to remove the bridge, pickguard and other parts first).

Also if you remember the "Kalashnikitty" thing (Hello Kitty with an AK), that would be cool on a guitar too (if you can't find it, let me know because I have a copy of it on my computer in Photoshop without a background)

With all due respect, I wouldn't put any stickers on a guitar--it dampens the acoustical properties of the instrument. You pay big money for an instrument with just the right tonal properties--and then you want to mess it up?

(I know that it's not a huge difference, but then, the difference in tone between a $2,000 instrument and a $4,000 instrument isn't really all that huge, is it?)

Just a thought.

Some antigun organization sent me a Handgun free America" sticker. For an email, it cost them 37 cents to send it :). Everyone here should get one. One more for us to keep or trash, one less for the anits. Well, I've got it up at work but have to get a small sticker with the word "for" on it to insert before the "free." Naughty can be fun.

Like the RKBA sticker, looks kind of like those car stickers

also like the idea of a sticker for your guitar the says,

Molon Labe Baby

I like the Molan Labe idea and the RKBA sounds good too- Anymore ideas? :D

(on a sidenote- a sticker on the guitar will not "dampen" accoutic properties to a noticeable level.)

freeride,
I absolutely LOVE the one that says "I love my 1911" (despite the fact I don't even own one), but I'm not sure how well general audiences would react to it. They might see me as a maniac or something. How do you guys think people will react to the sticker?

Another vote for "Molon Labe".

Just be prepared to be able to explain in depth what it means.

Oh..and get some cheezy bullet hole stickers! :D

Yohan,

I am tired about worrying what other people think. I am going to express myself however I want and as a matter of fact I am going to put an "I love my AR15" bumper sticker on my Jeep. If some soccer mom looks at it and wants to pee her pant, well let her. It is a tough world except it.

How many anti's and sheeple know enough to know what a "1911" is? (or is there a pic on it?) Not to many I bet.

You could go the same route as hank williams jr. did with one of his guitars. He replaced the strap with a bandolier complete with shells :D can't remember which CD the picture is in. I think its the "Live" album.
