I have a Mossberg 500 that I purchased a year ago with no real purpose. I have recently started shooting (informally in a field with a few friends) clay pigeons. First from a hand flinger, then in the last few weeks from a Trius 1 Step launcher and I'm having a great time. I'm mostly a handgun guy, and I don't hunt and don't ever plan on hunting, but I would like to get more involved in clay pigeon sports, probably still just informally in a field and then maybe more formally in a club setting. Again, I have a Mossberg 500 12ga but I recently held a CZ semi auto (might have been a 712). I really liked this gun. When I raised it to my shoulder it seemed to land right where it should and point very naturally. I am a big fan of CZ hand guns, and I know the 'CZ' in the name of these shotguns comes from the fact that they are sold by CZ-USA, and are not made in the Czech Republic but rather are Turkish. I like the idea of the 912 over the 712 as I understand the recoil spring in the 912 is in the butt stock. I have also read that there were some problems early on with these guns but I am given to understand that those issues have been resolved. I'm looking for opinions pro or con as they relate to the CZ 912 or 712.
