Put a Tapco stock on my Yugo SKS. Opened the bolt, slapped the mag in. But it just won't push the rounds up into the chamber. It's that way with all the Tapco mags I got.
You generally have to "adjust" the feed lips on most non-factory SKS magazines. If it's metal, get your pliers. If it's plastic (Zytel), get a rat-tail file. Adjust, then check feeding. Repeat as necessary.
If you are trying this with the wood stock, you may need to shave some wood from the mag well to make everything happy. UNLESS you are not in compliance with 922 (r), in which case I suggest you remove the tapco mag ASAP. Anyways check out the boards, its the one stop shop for the Simonov.
EDIT: Tapcos are usually reliable out of the box, I'd say they're street cred is about 99%. Unlike just about every other mag out there.
