Had a Tasco Target/Varmint scope on my Siloutte .22 rifle for around 6 years now. ALOT of dialing up/down and windage corrections over that time. My guess more dialing in one season then most scopes see in their lifetime. Well windage then elevation went bonkers this season. Replaced the scope and now it's back for warrenty service. We'll see how they do.
Last year Leupold completely rebuild a 25yo VeriX III for me free of charge no questions asked.

Let's NOT turn this into a "you should have bought better" thread. I own Leupolds and Weaver T series scopes so I DO know the difference.
It a thread to track warrenty experience

i sent in a pistol scope about 15 years ago as a lens inside came loose. and they would not even accept it for repairs, so no tasco scopes for me. eastbank.

I know tasco went through a odd warrenty issue when Bushnell bought them. Bushnell bought the name and product but did not aquire the warrenty liability of previous products.
I had a Pro Class pistol scope fail. Was told it was an uncovered Old Warrenty
Made some noise on a couple gun forums and had a VP of Customer Service call me and offered a new Busnell pistol scope. So they did come through on that one.

Just got a post card from Tasco (Bushnell) they received the scope and gave me a repair number. Checked online and they are holding it for evaluation. I was just gonna call them, should have gotten there 12 days ago. I believe the card said 4-6 weeks average for repairs. We'll see

Come to think of it I had a Tasco 'Recoil proof' pistol scope years ago I threw on a Super Blackhawk. 4 rounds of full load .44mag is all it took. Whole rear objective tore off the scope. They replaced it, never put back on the .44

I bought a new Tasco World Class 3-9x to put on a sporterized Lee-Enfield #4 Mk. I back in 1996. I'm normally a Leupold guy but, hey, it was cheap and I got to look at it and through it before I bought it and decided to give it a try. Overall, the optics were decent and I never had any problem with it until 765 rounds later in the spring of 2007 ( had to consult my log book). It got screwy and wouldn't hold zero...... It had a lifetime warranty but when I was going to contact them I saw on their web site that they weren't going to honor the warranty on that model. I think it was due to the company getting sold. I forgot the original price on it ( not that much) but I got a little over 10 years out of it before it died. It was decent enough that it would still be on that rifle if it still worked. But it don't work so it got replaced with a Redfield Revolution 4-12x that's been on it since 2011 and has been very nice. It's made by Leupold and while that rifle isn't one of my main hunting guns I've been impressed by that Redfield considering what it cost. Good luck with your Tasco (Bushnell) service folks... Hope they come through for you, keep us posted.

Got my scope back yesterday. Note in the box said it was over extended up and they recentered it. Recommendation was to shim my front ring as to not use the up elevation knob as much. Odd thing is I dropped a new scope on the existing rings and it was within 4 clicks at 100. Note said scope only has 20 clicks of usable up elevation ( 5" at 100yds ? ). I shoot rimfire silloutte 40m to 100m. With a zero at 40m I use 32 clicks up for 100m. Guess I'd need to shim high at 40m to use some of the down range too. Ran the scope the way it was for 6 years or better. Time for a Weaver T series I guess.

Re-read their reply. It says shim front ring to correct for too much use of up knob. Wouldn't shimming the front ring cause the gun to shoot low.

Just mounted it on a known accurate .223 bolt gun. I'll get out Monday and try to shoot a box from hell test target.
Center shot, 10L/10U shot, 20R shot, 20D shot, 20L shot, 10U/10R shot. Should be back to center. Betcha NOT.
They said my R/L problem was not setting the parralex correctly. I've been shooting parralex adjustable scopes for 40yrs. That scope even has corrected markings for 40, 60, 80 and 100m. If it's not right I'll be contacting them. Should have saved the $24 (evaluation fee and shipping) now it's about principle.

Shot a test target this morning. Zero'd at 100 and shot a 5 shot .68" group. Ran the turrets through a L10, U10 R20, D20, L20, U10, R10. Fired another group and it was just over 1-1/2" right of the first group. Went 4 clicks L and it was 1/2" L of the first group. Elevation was good. Scope still has R/L tracking issues. Last time they told me it parralex issues while I'm shooting under 3/4" groups at 100yds.

If I could get the rifle zeroed I'd consider it a great day and wouldn't touch the turrets again. That would be asking for trouble IMO. I don't see how it is possible to make a scope with repeatable adjustments in the Tasco price range.

Agreed with above poster. I would sight in on a rifle that doesn't see much important use and leave it as is.

Add a dovetail rail into the equation and I bang my head against the wall.

It was repeatable when new. My guess it's just worn from years of use in Siloutte shooting, a LOT of up/down dialing in a season. At this point I have a .223 bolt I'm selling without a scope. Might throw it in the deal with a warning on the L/R issue

four of the rifles i shoot at longer ranges, a 700V rem in .223 to 500 yards, a 700V rem in 308 to 600 yards, a 700P in 300 win mag to 1000 yard and a win repo in 45-70 to 300 yards. the bolt rifles have leupolds and the single shot has a older weaver T-6. i run the clicks on all four rifles and have not had any problems with them, i,m amazed at the older weaver T series target scopes, the glass may not be as good as newer scopes but the clicks are right on. the leupolds have super warranty,s as you know, how ever to get any older weaver T series repaired will cost you. i do have a older tasco(japanese made) 8x32 on a older S&W 1500V (howa) that i have had no problems with yet. eastbank.
