Taurus and Charter Arms should be avoided, right?

I've owned a couple of Taurus revolvers. Worked fine, but I didn't like the feel of them. I've owned several Undercovers and .44 Bulldogs and they performed flawlessly. My arthritis prevents me from shooting a .44 any more. The undercover is the smallest .38 by far until recently and you can still get a used one for less than $200. I wish I hadn't traded them off over the years. If I had a chance to buy another FTF,I would in a minute. Never cared for Smiths, but I like the OLD Colt DS's.

Every Taurus i've shot works just fine. Really liked their .40 caliber 24/7pro. Honestly, i think taurus just realizes they dont have the reputation to charge as much for guns as other companies. It would explain why the Taurus PT-92 an *EXACT* copy of the baretta 92 will still be a couple hundred less MSRP than the baretta. Same exact thing.

My local dealer stopped carrying Taurus revolvers because of reliability problems of late. They said Taurus wasn't really hot on service or support as well. I chose a Ruger instead.

Taurus 66, pre 1988. No idea how many rounds have been down the barrel. Re-sprung the entire gun with S&W spring set a few years back and is still shooting great, about 50 rounds a week, most are mid scale reloads.
When I bought it, the fit and finish were every bit as good as the S&W 66 sitting beside it, just $150 less. The grips were pretty, (still are cause they are in a box) but were so damn big it made it uncomfortable to shoot, a set of Pachmayr's solved that problem. Carried that gun for 15 yeas daily, now it rides in my truck always.
New Taurus', I can't say good or bad.
