Taurus g3 tactical?

Ordered a surpressor for my 9mm carbine. Naturally I need a 9mm pistol now since I have the ammo already but I want one I can also use with the can. Most threaded 9s are over $670 out here. I found a g3 tactical for $439. Are these good? Would I be better off paying more for a different brand? I’ve heard mixed reviews about Taurus and I’m just curious.

Don't know about the threaded barrel model, but have read a lot of positive comments about the G3 and GX4 Taurus pistols.

Good to hear. My problem is I just can’t really justify paying $900-1200 dollars for a shadow systems or fn threaded if a Taurus threaded is fine and half the price.

Smith and wesson is blowing out some models of guns with lowered prices and a 100 dollar rebate.

Or buy a police trade in glock and M&P and throw a 175 dollar threaded barrel at the thing.

One doesn't need 1k for a suppressor host and one shouldn't have to resort to buying a Taurus either.

Like mentioned above, I'd be more likely to buy something used in solid shape and snatching up a threaded barrel, too.

I guess in my head, I can't rationalize accessories that cost more than the gun they're attached to.

I got an ad in the mail the other day from a semi-local chain place that has monthly deals. FN 509 for $629. It's not threaded, but it comes with an instant $175 store gift card. Believe you could grab a barrel for it and be way under $900.

If you just simply want a range toy you can’t beat the price for the Taurus. Probably the best bang for your buck gun out there. In the past Taurus had a bad reputation but I’ll say they have came along way. In the gun world a bad reputation is a rain cloud that will hover and follow you everywhere. Some people will never get over that and I fully get it, however I will say the G series of pistols is just as good as any other gun out there. Me personally I wouldn’t pay 900-1200 just to get a threaded barrel.

Yea I don’t shoot too much I don’t have to get a threaded I guess. Just thought I’d try to since I bought the can but I can get a non threaded Springfield defender xd for $329 right now. It seems like a better gun than the g3 at least to me.Then maybe slap a threaded barrel on it down the road. How good are Springfield defenders? Sales said they are a service gun? It feels really good to me. Just as good as the sig 320 he also had me try but the sig is $569 but maybe it’s worth the extra? I don’t like the feel of glocks:uhoh:.

Where are you from that threaded nines are expensive?

I would pick a lot of guns over a Taurus G3. They aren't bad, but we def live in the golden age of cheap plastic pistols.

Edit: good luck finding a threaded Springfield barrel

In Oregon unfortunately. I don’t have to have a threaded barrel mostly just want the 9mm without paying over $600

You comfortable ordering online and shipping to an FFL?
I have ordered guns out of state before but since Oregon’s been trying to pass this new law (it keeps getting pushed back), I’ve asked multiple ffl dealers and they’ve all said no to out of state purchases because it’s not guaranteed to be here in time.

Ahh, well there goes the cheap options like PSA dagger or snagging a Turkish import. I sometimes forget not everyone has $10 transfer fees as well.
