I'm giving mine back. I'm in Michigan and with our booming economy, the free moonbeam pies, free bubble up, free cigarettes, and all the stuff we get flowing out of the rock candy mountain for free, I couldn't live with myself if I accepted my own money back.

I will probably buy ammo that I do not reload with some of it.

I ‘should’ do that as well: ammo and loading supplies.

But I would like Stainless Colt XSE Lightweight Commander.

Well since the idea of the rebate is to get folks to spend the money, I might as well do my part.

Free money to me means adding a gun. Which gun? I don't know. A gun, maybe ammo, maybe accessories? Who know? I'll probably save a hundred or two, but something will be coming home with me, that's for sure.

Now I'm reading this in the news

Bush doesn't support cash for people who don't make enough to pay federal income taxes. The administration also does not back non-tax related ideas, favoring simplicity to ensure a package could be passed and implemented quickly,

so it appears I may not be eligible.:(

Typical Bush economic plan...give tax breaks for the rich, but for those of us who really need it, too bad.

You don't have to be rich to pay taxes. I'm certainly not rich and I've benefited from the tax cuts.

OK, but you have to be richer than me. Better way to word it....No tax breaks for the poor.

I realy want a 1911 before the dems and some repub. make them illegal or just make them too expensive to get. I hope they realy pass this soon if they are going to do it. If you pay taxes you should get it, if you don't then no money for you. I am tired of paying for everyone else to ride for free on my wallet!!!

I'll give mine to my grandkids to help pay the massive debt we're leaving them.

I disagree with your logic here. I am a starving graduate student and make less than 20,000/year and I could use a little extra cash. You are not giving me a "free ride." I'm not on welfare, I have a car that works only some of the time, and I work 50-60 hrs/week. Times are tough so give me a freakin' break.

Hey Griz, I really don't think he was referring to what you are doing. We all know going through college is hell financially. I'm pretty sure is was talking about non-tax payers like illegals and big businesses that find that "loophole". Times are tough and I hope Congress passes this bill for people, like yourself, that can use this extra cash.

glad somebody posted this because I was thinking about the same thing.

While $800 bucks would be enough for my first AR I dont think that would be the most prudent choice so instead

1. SKS and bunch of Ammo (Unless I find a nice deal on an AK)
2. M44 Nagent and Ammo
3. P3AT for pocket carry
4. Donate some money to Oregon Firearms Federation so they can win their legal battle and thus allow me to CCW at school

Tax breaks for tax payers, not necessarily just the rich. Just how would you implement an income tax break for people who pay none?

The bottom 20% of taxpayers pay something like 3% of federal taxes. Not a lot of room there for tax reduction. Already many people in the lower brackets actually get tax credits that exceed their tax liability.

Personally, I would be happy to just eliminate all federal income tax participation for all taxpayers in the bottom 20%. Not even in the system. Hows that for fair?

OK electrode, I'll give you a pass. I'm not too fond of free-loaders either.

As long as the wife doesn't have other plans, and we each get half, I'm thinking a Ruger GP100 .357 and a SP101 in the new .327mag.
