Ted Nugent telling it like it is.

Ted is the way he is, and guess what? He's pro-gun! Good. I only wish more people would say how they really feel. Offend away. Every statement does not have to be measured or studied or phrased in such a way as to "please" the most people.

I have alot of respect for Ted Nugent, not for his 2nd Amendment ramblings, but for his exercising his 1st Amendment rights with those ramblings. Really, Ted Nugent is a 1st Amendment champion. He isn't doing much more for the 2nd than the rest of us gun folks.

Still a jackass, but somebody's gotta do it.

He has a good point

Even if he is a bit over the top. The problem is that we have a warped justice system in which the convicted killers, rapists, robbers and dope peddlers have more rights than crime victims. People make excuses for these dirtbags time and again. Trying to tell us it is not their fault it is societies". Perhaps they are poor or black or they got spanked or some kid was mean to them when they were little and they cannot help their prurient interests cuz that is only natural.

Oh, and everyone knows that prison is there to rehabilitate, not punish. And if they are not mended than it is the government's fault, not the individual criminal's. Recitivism is very high. Sexual predators, in fact, reoffend 100% of the time. If we started holding individuals accountable for their actions, realize that they all have free will, and we should worry about protecting the vulnerable and innocent in society, instead of the scumbags, we would have a much better society. :cuss:

Maybe it is time to realize that they cannot be rehabilitated, because they were never habilitated in the first place, and that by their won choice. Lets keep the evildoers off the streets and out of our schoolyards and put our energy into helping the true victims of crime.

Go Ted!

We gun people are so darn nice and accomodating to the antis. A guy like Ted Nugent is like a breath of fresh air.

Here's what's on Wikipedia about the draft.

An interviewer from the British newspaper The Independent questioned Nugent about a 1977 interview in High Times magazine in which Nugent allegedly detailed elaborate steps taken to avoid the Vietnam draft. While not denying that he made such statements, Nugent dismissed their veracity, claiming that when confronted with 'glazed-eyed' interviewers, he would "make stories up." He explained that he did not go to Vietnam because he had a 1 year student deferment. When questioned, he admitted that he had "not wanted to get his ass blown off in Vietnam," but made note of a tour he made with the USO in 2004 to Fallujah and Afghanistan as support of his assertion that "I am not a coward." He also said that "Because I failed to serve in Vietnam, I feel an obligation now, to do everything I can to support those defending our freedom. Do I feel guilt and embarrassment? Yes.

Also note that he is going to Guantanamo to play for our troops on October 31st. Whatever you think about him you can't deny his present day actions.
I'll side with him any day.

"make stories up?"

Yeah, that clears it up.

Draft dodging is a crime and it is patently hypocritical of The Nuge to say word one about his fellow criminals. His words would resonate with me a lot more if they came out of someone else's mouth.

Guys, this is no time to go Spitting on our pro-gun friends. We Dont have many.

We have all done things that we regret, no? I Sure have, and if he has done some things in the past, who the hell are we to say he hasnt changed?

If draft dodging is a crime and Nugent was guilty then why hasn't he been convicted? Get over it, Nugent is out there TODAY speaking for and supporting our troops. I have the cojones to admit that he has done more than I have, others are clueless.

Whatever he says, he means it 100%. I greatly respect him for that. I also agree with the majority of what he says. I like the way that he gets right to the point and doesn't beat around the bush.

Fer pete's sake not everybody of age got drafted. Some guys got deferments, some just never got the call. If Nugent said he told idiot reporters stories then barring evidence to the contrary I'll take it a face value. Anybody got details on his draft dodging or are we gonna see another danblather memo?

I can't stand most of the mans music, but I stand behind his 2A and hunting positions 100%

I like The Nuge.

I love the fact that he stands up and shouts at the top of his lungs that we need to safeguard our rights. He's great that way. A diplomat he is not, but he is a force to be reckoned with and I'm glad to have him on our side.

As for the draft-dodging... He went in played up an insane act, rolled the dice, and convinced the draft board not to take him. He didn't run to Canada. I think what he did was dishonorable. I hope that it haunts him and that it makes him feel guilty that he made some other young man go in his place to face death and fear while he stayed home and got rich. That was almost 40 years ago though. I suspect that even Ted has grown up some since then. I'm willing to listen to what he has to say without his lack of service in Vietnam coloring my judgment.

I agree with some of what he says, but he's not the best spokesman for our cause.

I'd much rather have Tom Selleck or someone of his character speaking for us rather than an over the top character that all but the most diehard gun nut sees as a buffoon.

The Nuge is far from perfect, and yes, he makes me wince sometimes with his over the top comments.

But I'm glad he's on our side.

I can't seem to figure out what he is nuttier about, bowhunting or guns.

p.s. loved his music too when he was just the "motor city madman."

Ted Nugent is one of the greatest voices of our generation

He tells it like it is, plays a mean guitar and can debate with the best of them.
Sometimes I can give a good debate, most liberals think they are good debaters but when confronted with truth use slander, lies and curse words.
Sometimes instead of wasting my breath on an idiot I use the same vernacular Ted does.
God bless him, may he love long and perspire!

When he starts singing songs like "Kiss my Glock" he only hurts the cause. Or when he starts getting bloodthirsty and wishing death on everyone he only hurts the cause in the eyes of the population with no real opinion on gun control.
] Yup, just be nice to the Rosie's of the world and they'll see it our way. :barf:

The “Nuge” is no one's friend but his own; he routinely sells out the gun movement by harming our cause in exchange for self-publicity. That specific comment smacks if vigilantism and his comment about Hillary being a "worthless b!tch", and that she can "ride his machinegun" is just reinforcing a stereotype that gun owners are misogynists.

Gun owners like his because on an emotional level they like what he's saying, but unfortunately his comments turn people away from the RKBA message.

Yup, just be nice to the Rosie's of the world and they'll see it our way

Nice try, he said those with "no real opinion on gun control", I'm not concerned with the Rosies but I am concerned with the fence-sitters, and you should be as well.

Sorry but anyone who thinks the anti/libs are going to "like us better" if we talk softly and play nice are delusional.

Ted rocks! I wish he and Ann Coulter would tour together

Terrible Ted speaks his mind - I like that. My Ol' Man told me when I was just a mere 'Bikerling' that if I didn't piss off at least 6 people a day, I wasn't speaking my mind. I usually meet and surpass that quota.

The 'Free For All' album is one of rock and roll's all time greats. Go Ted!

I wonder how many of you Ted supporters would feel about good old Uncle Ted if you had to send some time around him.

Ann Coulter and Ted, scary. Can anyone say "Radical Far Right"

Those that support Ted and his big mouth ask your wife or girlfriend how she feels about Ted. If your better half does not know of him show her some footage of Ted in action and or let her read some of what Ted has said. That will give you good idea how he is helping out in the ongoing gun control battle.

Keep in mind , very important, many of the ones voting for gun control are women who have never been exposed to guns and are afraid of them.

Shooter 429: Look at the Swedish prison system and their recidivism rates. They send their prisoners to college and educate them. Once these people have skills they get out and find work they become productive members of society. There recidivism rate was under 10%. What is so different here in the US?

What is so different here in the US?

Sweeden: Tiny country, with a fraction of our population, cradle to the grave welfare system, legalized drugs, homogenous racial/cultural population, and comparably very little immigration.

Uh, that about cover it?

I have spent some time with him. I would trust him with a key to my house. Or gunsafe. How many people can you say that about...?

Do you have some data to back that statement up? Or maybe you'd wish to elaborate.....??

Not sure if you mean this in a good way or bad. Ted does more positive things for RKBA than most of us have thought about. He also does more for the kids via the TNUSA camps, more for disabled hunters, and more for the food banks than I could ever hope to accomplish. By the way, SWMBO's favorite songs in the fall are "Spirit of the Wild" and "Fred Baer" :neener: She also has Sharmane's cookbooks :p Yum!

That's fine, but he's doing vastly more harm when he opens his mouth and calls Hillary a "worthless b!tch" and tells her to "ride his machinegun". That kind of message does not bring people on the fense to our side, it simply reinforces a negative stereotype and drives people away.

It might feel good to say those things but it does not win friends.
