Tell me about the CZ 75 single action

I was wondering if the CZ 75 Single action trigger is adjustable, and has short travel like a 1911. Or is it just like the 75 B, but with no DA ability?

If just like the 75 B, there is no reason for me to buy it, but if it totally different, then I may be intrested.

uses a different trigger than the 75b for single action..it uses a straight trigger..factory version is adjustable for overtravel only, an upgraded trigger is available that is adjustable for overtravel and pretravel.

the mechanics of the trigger make it different than a 1911 style trigger due to the pivoting design. it will have slightly more movement in takeup than a 1911, because of the pivoting trigger. You can a get a really nice crisp light trigger, mine breaks around 1.75#.

it is a different animal than the 75b in single action.

Correct. I bought mine because the SA trigger is not as far away as the DA pistols. It is adjustable. I made final adjustments on mine and secured the screws with Loc-tite. BTW, I used mine this morning for a bowling pin match. There were no malfunctions of any kind using Remington JHP and Gold Dots. The only guy that beat me was using a 1911.

I'll add that you can get a very short and light trigger in a CZ, but it still doesn't feel the same as a 1911. Not better, not worse, just different.

Pretty much the same. You still have the same sear to hammer engagement.

You can adjust out a good bit of the take up, and over travel. The weight stays the same.

To get a trully nice trigger you need a hammer with shorter hooks and less camming.

I have a 75b and a 75b single action. I worked on both triggers. Both are good but the regular "B" is a little smoother and it actually has a little less take up single action than the 75sa. That said I like the 75sa a little better because of the different beavertail and the larger paddle style safeties. Mark

I fired a 75 SA at the range not too long ago. Sweet trigger. Nice clean break around 3lbs. Very nice.

Mine is extremely nice but a pivoting trigger will always feel different than a straight pull trigger. OTOH I have had much better reliability from CZs than I have had from 1911s. I always try to look at the big picture.

I'm still unsure which to get. If the single action trigger has a shorter take up, and is better for IDPA and the range that is what I will get.

If there is not much of a difference, I will get the B and just carry locked and cocked.

there are significant differences in the 75SA over the std 75b.

the 75 SA uses a different frame..has a more upswept beavertail..allowing a deeper, higher grip on the gun, it has a more ext. mag release..that is much easier to reach.

This should be the frame that CZ uses for all its guns..

I have the CZ 75B SA. You will enjoy yours. CZ has nice ergonomics. The trigger pull on my CZ is nice. It could use a little work, but I tend to be a little finicky about triggers. One thing I can always say good about a CZ is the accuracy. They shoot well, and are easy to shoot.

that's just a matter of how the mag brake is adjusted in each gun..easy to make drop free by replacing the part or adjusting the original.

if you go to the manual online, you can see in the exploded diagram which part is the magazine brake. people who don't want their mags dropping free (like one IDPA guy i know) just put a kink in ther brake. otherwise, they straighten them out so it doesn't rub the magazine to hold it in.

As supplied they do not drop free. You can modify (bend) or change out the magazine "brake" to allow them to drop.

The ergos on the 75B SA are far superior to the 75B. The trigger is far superior, and the action is "tuned" better then the 75B, and yes it is slightly "tuned" according to CZ.
