Two students have been shot at a vocational school in Northeast.

The victims, a male and a female, were found outside the Excel Institute, located at 2591 V Street, NE.

According to D.C. Police, a disgruntled student with a gun went inside the school and shot a male student then shot a female student outside the school before carjacking a vehicle and driving to 17th and East Capitol Street, Southeast.

After ditching the vechicle, the suspect attempted to carjack two other vehicles before carjacking a Terminix car.

After a brief pursuit, the suspect was finally apprehended at 19th and C Street SE, but not before hitting a police cruiser, injuring an officer and another car, injuring a pregnant woman.

Both of the students' injuries are considered non-life threatening.

According to its website, the Excel Institute is a 501(c)(3), licensed post secondary educational institution founded in 1997 by former Washington Redskin George Starke, and John Lyon, CEO of Parking Management Inc.

Interesting situation going on around the US right now.. Bad guys and guns and light sentencing, 5% are the hard core criminal and they commit an awful lot of the crime, in and out it is a revolving door.
:uhoh:

While I hardly think the law enforcement and sentencing in this country is optimal, to say nothing of the laws, we have to keep this in perspective.

The downtrend in violent crime in the mid 90's is starting to level off just as mysteriously as it started. Large cities will be the worst hit because they always are. DC in particular will be riddled with violent crime because it's DC and would have been far better off if they'd just left it a malaria-infested swamp.

Hi All,
In some ways, I wouldn't be surprised if the "down turn" in the 90s wasn't inversely related to the economic boom before the Dot.coms bit the dust. Those on the dole are going to feel the pinch first.
Best,
Rob

IF you look at most of the cities that
are being hit with this If you really look at it they already have Gun Bans
on the books. Why are they having problems is because it's not working,Bad people will always find a way to get hold of a weapon. But the Law abidding people will get the blunt
of what happens because they have no means of protecting there self . We need to wake up.

I don't believe a word of that entire story, most especially not the part I quoted above.

The District has the most effective gun control laws in the entire country and that school should be a gun free zone. So it's obviously the safest place in the safest city, which means that none of that could be true.

Furthermore, the acts fabricated in the story are violations of the law. It's absurd to think that anyone would violate even one law in the nation's capitol much less so many.

The whole story has been Photoshopped.

Yeah, the school was a gun free zone. So, I doubt the part with guns in the school ever really happened. We're safe. There's nothing to see here folks. Move it along.

I watched the coverage of this on the news last night.

They interviewed this deranged man's third target.

He pointed the gun at him and it jammed.

Soo... why is it a good idea to ban cheap guns?

Now it's a snake infested concrete jungle.
