After lurking on this site for many months and soaking up as much knowledge as I could before buying the Lee Classic Turret Press I loaded and shot my first set of reloaded ammo this week.

Since I didn't have any friends that could show me the ropes I relied on this site heavily.

This week I loaded and shot about 200 rounds of 9mm and 50 rounds of .45 safely without any incident or misfires.

So I would like to thank everyone that contributes on this site. I wouldn't have gotten into reloading if I didn't have a resource like this.

Awesome feeling, ain't it?

I am in the same boat as you, I bought a LCT and whipped-up my first 9mm loads.

A great feeling, other than hearing my wife gripe about my expensive homemade ammo that costed a small fortune for the press, scale, powder, primers, bullets, calipers, etc.

"But honey, I made these for $5 a box!" :D

Welcome to the addiction and congratulations on the first batch. I also learned how to reload with a Lyman manual and this site. Now I'm at 3k and still going.

Welcome to the site and to reloading. You do realize there's no cure for this addition, right? LOL

It does fell great to shoot you own ammo doesn't it? Especially when you can shoot 4X or 5X as much ammo than if you bought factory ammo!!

BHump,
you needed pics of that big smile after your first shot. It does feel good doesn't it.

Better be prepared for more spousal questions. You're going to be travelling to the range a lot more often; so you can save even MORE money.:uhoh:

Congratulatetions. Glad we could help teach you something useful.

Your hooked with line and sinker now. Congrats on your new found hobby, it never ends. As your needs go you will be looking for a progressive soon if you shoot a lot of pistol ammo.

Now you'll find yourself looking for that new caliber gun you don't own, just so you can buy another set of dies.

BHump,

Didja get butterflies on the first magazine load?

I sure did, I started with a Lee "WhackaMole" Classic Loader, first cylinder full in my trusty Ruger Service Six gave me a BIG rush !!

Ya did good, store bought ammo just can't compare to your own hand loads.

Congratulation! Although its been well over 25 year since I started reloading I still remember that thrill of that first box firing off with no problems.
Welcome to the ranks of reloaders and may each and every round function exactly as expected. Its fun to experiment with slight variations in charges, trying new powders etc.
I am sure you will be addicted, as we all are to this wonderful hobby
Roger

Welcome to the great hobby of reloading. Glad to hear that everything went well.

+1, I didn't have anyone to show me either.
Started with Lyman's 47th & just happened to stumble onto this site several years ago.
