...for your thoughts and prayers during my recent multiple bypass surgery. I am recuperating in my new permanent digs at my daughter and son in law's house in S. Austin. Also a big thank you to Mr. Anonymous for liberating my two shooters from their temporary stay in the pawn shop while I was in the hospital.

And here's a tip: if you feel like you have a real bad case of heartburn, consider going to the emergency room. I had several such occurrences prior to my visit to the ER. Based on the ekg and enzyme marker tests the docs feel like I probably had had several heart attacks in the prior several weeks...NOT heartburn.

Glad to now you are home with loved ones. What a wondeful gift from the anonymous gent too.

It's sure great to see you with enough time and energy to type out a post.

Now comes the hard part.... listen to the docs, make any lifestyle changes they are suggesting and start getting in some sort of light but regular exercise.

I've been following your situation with interest. It is very heart-warming to read the outpouring of good wishes and prayers for your recovery, and you can add mine to them. The anonymous person who liberated your shooters for you is an absolute gem of an individual. This reinforces my belief that the muzzle loading fraternity is nothing but top-notch.

Get well soon El Hombre, and the best to you in the new year!

I couldn't agree with your advice more, Elhombre. Yeah, I thought mine was heartburn that felt like a spear through the chest after a night of buffalo wings and beer.
Nope, Doc said it was a "hot one". You're not talking about the wings, are ya Doc? " No sir, you are having a heart attack. And it's not your first one."
Listen to the man with no name and don't be afraid to go to the hospital, folks.

I am relieved and glad for you, sir. Get all well soon. I am very pleased that it worked out for your guns, too.

Goes for me too Noname!!! You take care of yourself!!

Glad yer postin and grateful that someone stepped in on the gun situation!!

Glad you 're on the mend.

I had similar experience that turned out to be angina & a skipping heartbeat. Blockage wasn't enough to do any corrective surgery - yet. Meds and the occasional nitro tablet keep me going along with regular trips to the cardiologist

Glad you are on the mend. Have you got a shooting trip planned? That is the next step to recovery.

Very glad you are on the mend. Yes folks pay attention to symptoms. Toughing it out could cost you your life. Ask yourself which is worse, a little embarassment at going to the hospital for heartburn, or going to the morgue.

New to the board but very glad to hear that one of the few handles I recognize got help with a severe medical issue and is on the road to recovery. Take care of yourself and get back to shooting as soon as you can.

elhombre, glad to hear you are doing fine, I too had quadruple by pass surgery way back in 04-02-2004, incidentally I was back to work in 6 weeks, and back to shooting CAS in a little over 2 months. Been working out at least 3-4 times a week and can put most youngsters to shame doing push-ups.:D

elhombre

Good to hear you're on the mend. Take all of your meds, do everything the cardiologist tells you to do, and get better real soon.

That's good advice.

Glad you're back Elhombre. :)

Just wanted to add my best wishes now that the holiday madness has settled down a bit (and visiting relatives are gone - hmm, there may be more than a coincidence there...). I'm a bit luckier than you; I had an 80% blockage in a main cardiac artery discovered and corrected due to exploring an unrelated problem. That scared me into a serious and highly successful weight loss, which has resulted in my being able to stop taking all the blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol drugs. Life's a whole lot better now. Hope you get the same results.

I guess that's why Doctors are always trying to put people on a diet. They know how destructive extra weight can be to the body.

The monsters living and growing inside you. Its scary.

Mr. Elhombre, I only joined last March, after getting my Uberti Walker, but have learned much & enjoyed reading your posts. I'm 72 yrs old, & luckily seem to be in good health. Take care of yourself, because without good health, life gets pretty dull. Take Care.
