Do any of y'all have that one gun you debated purchasing and then after you bought enjoyed it so much, you were like "Dang! why did I ever debate buying this?!"

I have a couple but one recent one is my S&W Shield 9mm. Having religiously purchased and carrying Glocks with the exception of 1911's, and a couple wheel guns. I have been throughly impressed with this little shooter. I EDC it and with the flush mag with +1 spring kit from magguts it disappears for IWB carry in just about anything and for its size its a hoot to shoot.

I told myself the other day, how did I ever debate buying this?

So whats it for y'all?

Beretta 92.

Always felt they were too big for my hands, too fragile in design, yet had one of the most beautiful and iconic designs. Finally decided to add one with the thought that no real firearms collection should be missing one and WOW I am so glad I did. It shoots wonderfully and looks great.

Now I am an enthusiast / collector and don't buy guns specifically for any kind of martial purpose so that influences my choices greatly.

Hi-Point .45 acp, turned out to be a good shooter that never jammed. I almost didn't buy the Hi-Point pistol after reading negative articles about Hi-Point. The only truthful thing about the articles, ia that the gun is ugly and bulky. Other than that it is reliable.

Many years ago at an auction for a small town hardware store going out of business...
a NIB Winchester model 70 in .243. Didn't know if I wanted it, didn't know what I would do with it, but it sure had a beautiful walnut stock. My brother in law goaded me into bidding and I had some cash in my pocket. Darned if I didn't get it.
Still have it and it still shoots great after a truckload of antelope, coyotes, groundhogs, etc...

thats awesome

Tokarev and Makarov. Never thought they would be what I wanted but the bug was there and then I shot them both and they are now some of my favorites.

My M1805 Harper's Ferry .54 caliber smoothbore U.S. Civil War era military horse pistol was something I was a bit on the fence about, mainly because of it's smooth bore barrel. I was worried accuracy wouldn't be good at all.

I was wrong:

This was standing, with a one-handed hold. I have had so much fun shooting this gun that I take it out with me every time I go to the range. It is quickly becoming my favorite handgun.

Benjamin Marauder rifle. I thought it was a ridiculous amount of money for an air rifle...but I shoot it more than any other gun I own (and I own a lot of guns).

About 8 years ago I bought a 1978 mfr'd Colt Python LNIB with the original box and paperwork. I had the money and thought if I could get it for the $1300 starting bid I would go for it. I got it and immediately thought I spent too much. Looking at the prices Pythons are going for now, I wonder why I ever suffered from buyer's remorse. I certainly can't afford to buy its twin today.

Mine is also the Shield. Debated it for a long time because I already had the Bodyguard .380 as my EDC. Finally went for it and I am so glad I did. It is the PERFECT size for me as my EDC. Small enough to easily conceal and big enough to fit my hand and feel substantial. The added firepower is also a plus. I love it. And I shoot it a hell of a lot better than I did the Bodyguard. Great buy!

I know it seems generic, but a Smith 686...I have regularly shot Colts for years. I bought a 7" seven shot 686. A buddy did a trigger job. It has a better SA trigger than any Colt I have owned. I liked it so much that I hunted down a like new, boxed 8 3/8" 686. I am embarrassed to say it is the most accurate revolver I have ever owned.

I'd owned the Swiss made SIG P210s in the past. When SIG introduced the German P210s I was reluctant to even consider one because I was sure they would not be as nice as my old Swiss made guns. I finally broke down and bought one of the P210 silver Legends. I was wrong in my initial prejudice against the German P210. The Legend turned out to be a beautifully fitted and finished pistol. I liked it so much I soon bought another, the Legend target model. "Dang !, why did I ever debate buying this?!"

I'm pretty much a revolver guy and a used gun guy. I almost never even look at a semi, or a new gun.

But just before Christmas a friend who works at the LGS casually mentioned that they had the Ruger LC9s on sale for $249.00 vs the usual $399.00. I didn't even know for sure what a LC9s was. I figured it was some kind of plastic semi, but that's about all I knew.

He fetched one from the other side of the island and showed it to me. I was impressed. OK, the only ones on sale were pink and purple, but still, $249.00 seemed like a good price. I also had this notion that Ruger was trying to sell "X" number of guns to make a "Y" donation to the NRA. I figured I would help out.

So I bought one. A pink one. I had owned a Kel-Tec P-11 many years ago, and I expected this to be about like that. Man was I wrong. The trigger was about the best I've ever seen on a production gun. I expected it to kick like the proverbial mule...the P-11 did. Not at all. Very nice shooting gun, and worked just fine on my reloads, FMJ or HP.

I liked it so much I went back and bought a purple one.

I have always been a revolver person, as a rule of thumb.

I had also always kind of wanted a Makarov in .380, so when I saw one I went ahead and took the chance. Turned out to be a very pleasant shooter. Fortunately I wasn't too hung up on when these guns used to cost in days past, so the going rate didn't put me off. You'll never buy anything used if you think about that too much.

Mine is pretty mundane as far as these things go. A Colt 6920 (M4gery I call it). I had been on the fence and looked at buying one for years, never did. Then decided to grab one as my 30th birthday/wedding present to self. Dang if I don't take it to the range more than any other rifle I own. I even took the plunge and put an Aimpoint red dot sight on it. It's my favorite center fire plinker and I can't remember why I waited so long to buy one.

Unfortunately it has made me a Pony fan, and the next thing I have my eyes on is the new Colt Lightweight Commander.

I'm going to join the "mine is mundane" (MIM? :D) crowd. "That" gun for me is my G19. It took me a while to warm up to her, but now I wonder why I waited to long to get one.

CZ82

One of those guns bought sight unseen through AIM Surplus many years ago. I had never shot one and didn't know anything about 9x18 in general.

Turns out the CZ82 has one of the best stock triggers I've ever shot, is exceptionally ergonomic and is an absolute tack-driver with even the cheapest ammunition you can feed it.

10/22. Always found them boring and not very exciting. However, putting a bit of work into it, aka tech sights and auto bolt release and I've got a very fun, very accurate gun to shoot cheap!

For me it would be M&Ps.

I had no interest in plastic guns until I picked up an M&P and it fit ,my hand perfectly

That one "gun" that I put off purchasing for way too long is a Griffin Armament Recce 7 mod 3. Silencers arent cheap. Running your .308 AR10 at the same sound level as a 10/22 is priceless.
