In addition to my ADL Varmint in 308 that I am having cut down to 20" I just picked up a SPS Tactical in 223. The 308 will be my medium range deer gun and my 223 will be my varmint/predator gun. Of course both will serve me for engaging zombies as well....LOL

well, my 700 is a bone stock BDL in 300 Win Mag. topped with a bushnell 4-12x44 scope. with the skinny little "whip" barrel. i do not necessarily buy into the short barrel is more accurate idea. i have no less than 10 sub-moa loads for mine, and two of them are factory fodder. the best 2 of these give me sub 1/2 moa results, .489" and .462" 5 shot groups.

Lets revive this thread...

Mine is a Remington 700 SPS Tactical chambered in .223. It has a Millett TRS-2 4-16X50, Millett rings, 20 MOA base, too much camo tape and some closed cell foam that is putting my eye where it needs to be and my cheek tight to the rifle. I am very close to buying a Bell and Carlson stock but I am having trouble deciding on the A5 (fully adjustable but over $400) and the A3 (no adjustments, but half the cost)

This is my learning gun and learning I have done.
I've more to go, before my groups I show,
but for now it's tons of fun.

1998 Vintage 700 Mountain Rifle. 22" Shilen sporting contour tube chambered for 280 Remington. Glass bedded and otherwise bone stock except for a little trigger clean-up. Leupold bases and medium rings wearing a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14 x 40 AO

700 Custom - Self built. Began life as one of the first SPS rifles sold to the public. Kept the receiver and trigger guard assy... Sold the rest. Trued action, sleeved, blueprinted the bolt. Rifle Basix trigger. Douglas 24" XX #2 contour - lapped and air gauged, yadda yadda. Chambered for 35 Whelen AI. Sits in a 700 Classic stock that has been glass bedded and reworked slightly. Leupold base & medium rings. Leupold Vari-X III 4.5 - 14 x 40 AO. Most accurate 700 I've ever shot.

It loved Nosler 225 BTs... The Accu-Tip 225 shoots just about as well. Remington 35 Whelen fire formed brass, neck sized only.

Lastly - 700 SPS Tactical. 223 Rem. EGW 0 MOA Base (shows Leupold bases and rings in photo). Timney trigger, Badger knob. Factory stock that I bedded and epoxied a fore-end stiffener into so that I could float the barrel. Leupold Vari-X III 6.5 - 20 X 40 AO with a Mil-Dot upgrade. Bout 10 lbs of lead shot in the butt stock cavity to balance the whole deal.

I don't have any pic's of my 700's yet. Have to work on that.

However, my parents bought me my first model 700 about 20 years ago when 15. It was a new 700 BDL 223 Rem. It's had a few different scopes on it over the years but I think I finally found the last one it will wear, a Leupold VX-II 4-12x40mm AO. A friend of mine glass bedded it and adjusted the trigger. He had it so light I had to make it a little heavier.

I bought my next 700. I was able to find a new 700 Classic 25-06 Rem. I put a Redfield Tracker 3-9x40mm Scope on it. The 700 Classic is my favorite rifle hands down. In '97 when the 280 Rem. was the 700 Classic I had to have one. I've always been intrigued by the 280 Rem. and the 700 Classic was perfict. The down side was I couldn't afford to buy the 280 without trading the 25-06. So I took the scope, mount and rings off the 25-06 and traded it in for the 280. Then I put everything on the 280. As much as I liked the 25-06 Rem., I love the 280 Rem. It's my favorite cartridge, in my favorite rifle!

I just bought a new Remington 7600 Carbine 30-06 Spr. If I could have bought a new or nice used 7600 in 280 Rem. I would have and would have made a carbine out of it. I'm happy with the 30-06 though.

I don't know what my next 700 will be. Maybe a VLS 22-250 Rem., Mountain Rifle 280 Rem., SPS or SPS Stainless 30-06 or 7mm Rem. mag./7mm RUM., M7 7mm-08 Rem. or 308 Win, M7 Predator. Maybe one day I'll come across a nice 700 Classic 35 Whelen and might just have to get it to go along side my 280!

NYH1! ;)

Here is the only 700 I, own at the moment, but now that my AR, collection is at a good level, it is time to build the bolt gun collection up. This .308 VLS, has had four scopes, in the last three years. Saterday it will have a 6-25 on it. I, will post those pictuers also.

Very nice guns that were just added! The 700 is such a great rifle with accuracy and so many different models no one looks the same.

Nothing real special, but all shoot sub moa.

700 SPS stainless syn. 7mm RM, Harris bipod, Leupold VX-III 3.5x10, Zee rings.
700 ADL wood .270 Win., Leupold VX-III 3x9x50, Zee rings
700 BDL wood 30-06, Leupold VX-III 3.5x10x50, Zee rings
Those Zee rings are an amazing ring that I have been using as far back as I can recall.
True story:
Many years ago I was hunting bear off the Mogion Rim and got in a bad spot that ended with me having drop my rifle off the cliff, or allow myself to fall, I went with the rifle and it landed on the butt. When I retrieved it and took it out to re-zero it, it was still at dead zero @ 200 yds.. I'm convinced Leupold glass and Zee rings is what made the difference.

I suppose it's about time I got in on this thread, being a Remington guy since I can remember.

Incidentally, they're all chambered in Remington cartridges, too. All are stock except trigger adjustment. I haven't fired the 8 mag yet, but the other three are all sub-MOA. I have to use a lead sled to get that out of the .375, though; It pelts too hard to relax behind it for good sandbag/rest groups.

From left, the VLSF is a .17 Rem and topped with Weaver V-16 4-16x42mm

Then the BDL C/D .25-06 with Leupold VX-III 4.5-14x 40mm

The next BDL C/D is my new-to-me 8mm Rem. Mag. with USA-made Redfield 2-7x

Finally, my thumper-the BDL SS is chambered in .375 RUM and topped with a Leupold VX-II 4-12x 40mm.

I have plenty of other rifles from .17 HM2 through .50 BMG, but these four can cover all my critter gettin' needs anywhere on the planet :D

My Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308 Winchester
Harris Bi-Pod
CenterPoint 4-16 x 40mm
Weaver Quad-Lock rings
Weaver 2 piece base

451, that is a beautiful stock.

My first rifle was a 700 BDL in 25-06. I killed a lot of deer with it. Sold it years ago and have been kicking mu butt ever since.

I do have my late brother's 700 ADL in .270. My kids both killed their first deer with it and I have shot a couple with it as well. No pics right now, just straight factory with a 4 X Redfield on it.

And after wanting one for years and always keeping an eye out, I found a really nice 700 BDL in .264 Win Mag a couple months ago in a pawn shop. It's on layaway right now waiting on one more payment before it comes home with me.

I cant wait for that. :D

I went and got my .264 yesterday. I have several things I want to do to it, but here is the start. I changed out the scope for my Leupold so far.
