I love my SP01, and I use it for HD. I've got a wish list too ;)

Though, if CZ did a few things there are two guns that would move to the top of the list:

1. CZ97 with an SP01-style light rail. Do want.
2. P07 Duty that accepts CZ75 magazines. Yes please.

My first CZ; a P01 according to the label on the box, but a CZ 75 D Compact in person. To borrow generously from the Bard: "A rose by any other name should smell so sweet...or shoot so straight".

I've been a CZ fan boy for many years. My first CZ was a -75 BD in 9mm. Paid $274.00 for it nib otd. My current CZ collection is:

2 -75 BD's 9mm
-75B twotone .40S&W
PCR 9mm
RAMI .40 S&W
-83 .380 ACP nickel
-452 Ultra Lux .22lr
Trainer .22lr
-550 .30-06
-550 Varmint .308

Next on my list is a Model 452 Varmint in .22lr. IMHO, you can spend more money on a gun, but you won't get more gun for your money.

Larry, that's an impressive list but you're missing one. Every CZ collection needs a flame throwing 52!

Point well taken, Fastcast. Also , I want a CZ auto shotgun and -97. Plus I want a -452 full stock .22lr. And another -550 in 6mm Swede. I know, I'm a sick puppy.

I have the 75c which is a sweet shooter and bought this a few weeks ago. I haven't shot it yet but figure it will be an excellent shooter to.

I ordered a CZ 452 ultra lux today. It's the last thing that I probably needed but with the economy like it is and things looking so bad I figured a long barrel 22 might be nice to have. A few years ago I bought a Marlin Goose Gun w/36" barrel for the same reason. Where I live there are Turkeys every where. If need be I figured it would reach out and touch one.

Bannockburn how is the trigger on your 75D? I'm looking at getting a compact CZ, but not with the rail system.

MrIzhevsk

In DA mode (after the decocker has been used), the trigger pull is a little heavy at first, but quickly smooths out. Not quite as smooth or continuous like a DA revolver, but it's a relatively short stroke and fairly even towards the release point. SA is also decent enough with a bit of take-up at the beginning and then finishing up evenly at the end. The only negative thing I would have to say would be the DA pull without the decocker being used. Here the pull is rather long and heavy, requiring a concerted effort to keep the sights on target before the hammer drops.

A mistake I see some people making with long DA triggers is trying to stage them, or pull them ever so slowly. To me this decreases accuracy, giving you more time to get off target and forcing your trigger finger to do more work. A swift, smooth pull is best for heavy DA triggers, and most for that matter.

Hey Col.,
I have been thinking about one of those 527s, mostly for the cheap practice. How do you like it? Have you hunted with it?

Well, I just purchased a CZ 75 SP-01 Phantom from Bud's Guns. Mailed them a M/O yesterday for $451 + $5 insurance for a grand total of $456 shipped!!! Couldn't pass up a deal like that:what:. And contacted the FFL dealer that it's being shipped to make sure he'll receive it and transfer it to me.

Now the wait..................................................................

Was trying to decide on a FNH FNX9, S&W M/P9c and this CZ. I already have a XD9 w/ a Springer trigger kit installed. So polymer isn't a big, big deal to me like some folks it is.

I have a couple of CZ-s, pretty plain janes. My 75B has never hiccuped on me (excluding some bad rounds that were loaded weak), and can run under an inch @10 yards (yeah, it's not racegun accuracy, but good enough for me).

My 75B alongside it's grandfather (sort of, at least):

Not exactly a pistol, but autoloader nonetheless (this does beg for the SP01 pics with bayonets :) )

I've got an SP01 Tactical. Worst trigger I've ever encountered on a handgun -- miles of creep. But very accurate and great fun to shoot. 100% reliable. I've fired thousands of rounds through it with nary a failure.

Got a CZ and one of its clones. In the pics: pre-"B" 75 and Armalite AR-24.

Don't react to quickly, I guess...

Hi there CZers,

I got a CZ-85 before the bad Clinton vibe came down. So, it is not "Made in the Czech Republic"; it says "Czechoslovakia" on it. Also, it came with a nasty stamp through it's sturdy finish stating that somebody in Vermont imported it. The stamp does not only mess with the gun's finish, but is also cockeyed, crooked. And the frame is uneven on each side. I cold blued the Vermont stamp to make it less obvious. It has the "old style" sights which means that upgrading them is frustrating (I'm old and little tiny dark sights don't work for me).

Functionally, it is a performer. Despite the QA discrepancies, I love the gun. I works!

Can someone tell me why my 85 is so different from the more recent offerings.

I put Pachmayer grips on it (which I love, but they didn't knock themselves out trying to make the fit perfectly). I hate those Hoque finger groove abortions.

I suspect that when I had an erection for a CZ-75 or 85, the Czechs were reloading after having been under the Soviet yoke for 40 or 50 years. So, anyone got any background info on CZ in the late 80s or early 90s explaining my particular piece.

If you've got any ideas, I will get out my digicam and shoot you a picture.

I love the CZ, as I loved the FN HiPower. They are still my favorites. Most more recent offerings seem clunky, fat, and weird in functioning i.e. Glock, etc.

Wishing for feedback,

AAW

I will be picking up my newly purchased CZ 83 on Fri. or Sat., depending on conflicting schedules and am allready looking forward to cycling quite a few rounds through it. Here's my question though, I plan on using this weapon as a carry piece after I get my license of course, I am looking for a recommendation for a "crossdraw" holster as one side is paralyzed and the strong side all ready has a wallet, cell phone, etc on that side.
I would prefer actual use experience information so I can make a better and more well informed decision. I have seen or looked at a multitude of websites but, I don' think I've seen a "sit, stand, walk,, hobble, joke at me,, holster yet. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

My father has two: a 75B Stainless 9mm and a 75D Compact (P-01) 9mm. For more informations and pics see the reviews I recently posted of these two guns.

RNB65: Want that long pull and 'creep' gone? PM "scmeky" and ask him about fixing those two problems. It'll be worth your effort.
