Many thanks, Larry and Sandy. Where did you find such a nice group of people. . . .?

I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet all you folks in person!

Wolf did you get any pics of folks shooting the 357 Max?

Funny thing I brought plenty of ammo... offered everyone a turn. And so few said yes.

The "gun show" laying on the table was pretty impressive too.

Food? We ate like kings.

The company? A great bunch of folks all sitting around sharing stories, breaking bread, and all armed to the teeth.:D

We do have to do this again. Thanks again, Larry.

I took a few, but am sorry to report they didn't turn out at all well: even at I.S.O. 800, I was working with slow shutter speeds and shivering from the chill in the air. It's a mighty pretty gun, and the next time we gather, I'll try to take some shots of it.

Does anyone still make firearms in that caliber?

Just a few observations on a great day. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, so please let me know.

My son, Jim Had to mention him first, he was the unsung hero of the day. Despite not feeling well, he showed up early and worked all day, setting poppers, cleaning chairs, generally getting things ready. After he fired a few mags full, he fired up the grill and cooked, then after dinner, he cleaned up the cooking area and helped put stuff away. Thanks, Jim!

WYO and wife Barb and son Madison. Wyo was paying attention and brought both deviled eggs AND Michelob.

Zundfolge and wife. A very delightful couple, thanks for coming!

Deepdiver and wife. Same as above.

labgrade and wife. I knew a year ago when we exchanged posts and PMs that labgrade and I would become friends. I was right, a thoroughly enjoyable couple. Also, the salmon and antelope roast were GREAT! Would you share your recipe?

Bob R and his wife. All the way from WA (actually he was working in the Springs). Brought 6 lbs. (!) of shrimp.

Billll brought some really cool swinging targets that he made. Also, him and....

Brass (aka "the unflinching one") were the first ones here. Helped set up the range and also got the ball rolling after dinner and started the clean-up.

Zak Smith and Sasha brought IPSC targets, plates. Pretty serious young shooters, these.

shooter Turns out I know him. Dated my sister years ago.

Standing Wolf took all those great pictures. Brought cookies and paper towels (great idea). Just as personable if not more so than he is on the web.

Steve Smith says I look like a cop. Surprised me he is so young, considering his accomplishments at Camp Perry. Also threatened to kick my butt if I didn't give him a coffee can for donations (thanks, guys).

MoNsTeR and jade Nice young couple, serious shooters. They were going to shoot the IPSC match yesterday.

My friend Bud and wife Annetta. SASS alias "Smoke Rizen" Not a THR member yet, but soon. He was the tall cowboy carrying, at one time, two Vaqueros AND a 1911.

Sisco from Kansas. Brought some plates for shooting and some plates and silverware for eating. His son didn't come, something about some "girl".

CMcDermott brought his mother down to check on her new house in Pueblo West. He stayed and shot and she came back later for dinner. I know they brought something, but I don't remember what.

TaxPhd Lived in the Springs last 2 years, first time we met. Dusted off his race gun for the first time in 2 years. I think he's hooked again.

Dr.Rob Man, that was some great chili! Don't forget to send Sandy the recipe. Dressed for the weather in his trench coat.

Justin The mysterious ATF agent. :D

eerw forgot to sign the guest book. Brought some dessert and his 4 year old (?) son. Showed some new guns and some FAST shooting.

Quote of the day: eerw's son came to his dad during a cease fire and eerw told him "Go back around the house, you don't have your ears on or eye protection" Son runs about 4 steps, grabs his ears, stops and comes back, and says "But daddy, I have them". :D

Not a scope-cut in the bunch, Tam. Although firing my own gun at (what!?) 15 yards, I flinched w/the thing so bad I almost - almost, mind you, shot the foot of a popper - missed completely. ;)

BTW, the li'l Lady in pale blue & denim skirt, the dog & the tall guy in the camo bonnie hat is The Family.

Most excellent putting faces on names.

Larry/Sandy = many thanks - PM a bit later. High time this finally got put together.

Agree. Shooters (hardware & folks) ran the gamut. Prolly would've tripled the hardware tally if we had space to break out the longguns. :p :D

Too, Larry.

Any chance of a PM to the roster y'all collected for the attendees?

I am horrible w/names - tough enough to remember one, let alone two (screen name too boot).

& Zak, Sasha's a sweetie. Got to get together - The Wife demands it.

Sure, but I didn't bring them today, I'll send it tomorrow.

Weird thing, sitting around the living room in the evening with 5-6 guys you barely know, knowing they are all armed, and feeling absolutely comfortable with it.

Everybody, down to the last person, was safe, courteous and good company.

:)

Great outing, Larry! Thanks again to you and Sandy for hosting it.

..and thanks for taking the photos, wolfman!!

Recoil of the .309jdj is barely noticeable.

....actually, the barrel was elevated in this photo because it was taken just before Jim dropped that black helicopter that was hovering over the berm..:D

Hey Larry..

sorry about the guest book..but when you are standing there and the five guys are around the deviled eggs...you gotta make a choice...:D

the real "eerw" ( the four-year-old ) had a great time...loves the guns..but loved the dirt and the tractors more...thanks to all...it was literally a blast..

Definately a good time.

Larry, I was going to shoot that match at Pueblo on Sunday, but after being gone Saturday, the wife had too many "Honey Do's" on the list. Maybe next month.

Scott

I saw a tray full of deviled eggs in the kitchen but there only appeared to be a few dozen. I was gonna eat a couple but didn't want Larry to catch me raiding his stash. :D

Larry = thanks for hosting the event, I had a great time and my Mom enjoyed herself also.

Standing Wolf - great pictures, and there's no need for you to be envious of those target grips on my Model 18, you bought them off my gun and put them on your K22. And I picked up a pair of factory diamond targets yesterday at the gun show to replace them on my Model 18. Hope you enjoy the target grips on your K22.
