^^ Just got me one of those, too, but have not shot it yet. Only been maybe two weeks or so. Had been wanting one; found this "duotone" one for sale, LNIB, with even its factory test shell, for $175. Looking forward to it.

At first, I thought you may have bought the one I had for sale - But I let mine go for a bit less. I bought it brand new in 2002, and it had no frame safety. Very nice little pistol, with a very comfortable grip, even with very large hands. FWIW, it does have a mag safety. Only real downside is magazine cost, but the pistol does have a lifetime warranty.

If the one you pictured is the one you had, then, yes, it's not mine. Mine is a Bersa, with the internal lock, while yours was the Firestorm version. I haven't shot mine yet but, if it's at all like the .380 version I've had since 2008, I'll be well pleased.

I used to have one of those Phoenix's. For an inexpensive pistol it was actually alright.

I didn't shoot it that much. Put roughly two of the 550 rd bricks of the Federal and several sleeves of the 100 rd CCI through it the entire time I had it. It felt and looked like a 'Ring of Fire' pistol, but it actually worked.

Don't remember it ever choking. Eventually it went away in a straight across trade to a buddy for a double stack Llama .45 ACP.

Just went through and read everything in the operating instructions that came with the HP22A and there is no mention of using only standard velocity ammo in it. All it says is to use factory ammo only and no reloads (as much as I enjoy reloading I doubt whether I even would try this with the .25ACP!). I have heard from various places though that the gun will last longer if you limit your shooting to mostly standard velocity versus high velocity or hyper velocity ammo.
