Oh! Ha, ha. Whoops.

Seriously it was just a joke. But I do have a hard time understanding why all steel on guns isn’t stainless with whatever color and polish finish you prefer. Lots of peace of mind there.

Idk if stainless will take blueing, and lots of folks like the "classicness" of a revolver so they want it blued.

However I cannot argue with stainless ,I prefer it,much easier to take care of, I don't worry nearly as much about finger prints, and I can use a lead removing cloth which makes life so much easier. And I kinda like the look of stainless better, especially with darker wood grips.

Yes, I don’t know either about bluing. I am assuming there is some chemistry that colors stainless similarly to bluing if not identically.

Because you can darken it, blacken it, coat it, plate it or even blue it but you can't here with stainless. Not everyone wants their guns to be dishwasher safe. ;)

Well, personally I find it somewhat less than butt ugly but still in the ugly category but I'm old and opinionated about stuff and I doubt they are targeting shooters that fall into that classification. I think they are targeting the younger shooters that go for the more "modern" look of black rifles, etc. If I were young enough to compete in matches that this would fit into or even just play with I would certainly be interested. As it is I have enough revolvers for my needs and all are more attractive to my eye than this one.

I’m really hoping for a 44 mag version at some point, a smaller toy to play with and keep my super redhawk company. I’ve been looking at the 44 special GP100 but would prefer to load down 44 mag cases which I already have instead of investing in Special brass

I hope they don't because my wallet would hate me and my girl would kill me.

Yep, because we know what a modern concept it is to have more than six shots! :p

My comment is for the guys that never want anything to change from the way it was in their youth (almost certainly the 1950s or 1960s).

I like Ruger's approach to the market - see whats working for the other guys and jump in.

It's getting hard to keep up. So a SRH derivative is now a GP100, a compact little Colt "Cobra" is now a King Cobra? I'm guessing that firearms manufacturers employ marketing whiz kids to come up with these names, thus causing potential buyers swoon with desire upon hearing these monikers;)

Some significant distinguishing factors between the Super Redhawk and the Super GP100 are the frame extension and the chambering. There has never been a Super Redhawk without a frame extension, or chambered in anything smaller than 10mm.

I don't know if I agree that those things make it more of a Super GP100 than a Super Redhawk, but I can see some possible reasons for not simply calling it a Super Redhawk in a different chambering.

Couldn't they have called it an Ultra Redhawk? Or Mega, or Awesome or to stick with their current nomenclature the New Model Redhawk?

The revolver is stainless steel, but Ruger used three different finishes on it, including ceracoat and black nitride. I don’t recall the third but will find out.

Returning back to our originally posted topic...

Sorry....no can do.

We much rather look at pictures of blued single action cowboy revolvers! No one really wants a DA revolver anymore! They don't look nice!

Get another girlfriend!

Like others in this thread, I'm not exactly stoked on this particular model as much as what models it might open the doors for.

A factory version similar to that Bowen GP44 would be pretty nice.

May I ask what is the target consumer for custom Bowen revolvers?

Wait, I know. The guy that complains about the high cost of factory 44 Magnum ammo! Expect a good news release from Ruger any day!

Too late, Can't now, she's got a bun in the oven ,LOL

On the bright side in a few years I'll have someone to share my obsession with

Not what I like. Good for Ruger for giving it a try. Keep trying maybe they will hit on something I like. For some reason it looks like something a semi-auto fan would like.
