This thread will hopefully cut down on the clutter of posts which ask the same question over and over. "Have you heard anything about this gun?" Not that theres anything wrong with asking questions, that isn't what I'm going at, but it'd be great to have just one thread to ask all the questions about a particular gun you've heard of or want to find out just a little bit more info on.

To get it rolling I'll start off. Ahem.

Has anyone heard anything about the Beretta 92FS? I managed to handle one at the candy store today, and even though it was the compact model (which I didn't like. Short stock w/ full length slide/barrel), I imagine the fullsize model must be pretty sweet.

Instead of yet another thread, why not use the search function? I did one, and I see at least 3 or 4 threads about this gun.

And that applies for anyone wanting to ask about a particular gun.

I use the search function a lot.
Pretty much everything has been covered at one point or another. But if all we ever do is search old posts and not post. This would be a pretty boring board.

I hope you don't find this critique unfair, but as others have said:
1 - Search is your friend (on this pistol in particular I believe there have been 3 or 4 threads in the last month). Revive old threads if necessary. Start new ones if something specific isn't covered, and include it in the thread title - i.e. "HK P7 M8 FTE Trouble."

2 - How do you intend to keep this thread from being cluttered? Already there's queries on two different guns, and any responses that come in might make it more confusing unless there's a systematic way to organize questions and replies that you can get everyone to abide by. Something to think about.

3 - Unless everyone's cruising this thread on a regular basis (tough unless #2 can be accomplished) it's likely that posters who would otherwises respond to a question about a particular pistol won't know it exists. If someone is a SIG afficiondo, but doesn't have time to wade through several posts on different guns and the corresponding replies, odds are their knowledge won't be shared at all.
