I see posts about going over to the Darkside. I think the Real Darkside
is the number of people creeping over to the dark and mysterious
territory of CZs.

All the posts and emails from ecstatic people who have tried other guns
and then 'fell into' a CZ.

They cite the cost (always a major factor with any firearm) then the
way if fits the hand. After shooting a 75B or other CZUB product..
the Mania increases.

Shooters old and new are amazed at the quality, reliability, and
superb accuracy.

Often asking themselves why they spent so much money on other
pistols.

For those of you who have not made the leap into the land of
Cee-Zeds////// you are quite welcome. Lotsa space for new
CZ fans:)

I have shot the CZ 75 and it was nice. Fit my had well.

But, I am happier with my G19.

Doesnt mean I wouldnt own a CZ 75, just dont need another 9 at this time.;)

We've had a couple of CZs thru the local shop, though it took a loooonnnnggg time to sell them.

I was... underwhelmed.

Obviously they have a following, but they are just not meant for me (nor the majority of the local customers it would seem).

We have seduced/sold many of those same folks on the virtues of the Glock though. :neener:

It took me almost a year after my 21st birthday to get up the nerve to buy the p-01. i haven't looked back since.(last week) Now I am trying to figure out which one is next.:D

9X19....Thats really strange..most stores around here cant keep them on the shelves....but its just like ANYTHING for sale....the market dictates!

Heres my take on it. The guns have never had the exposure or support they do now. Holsters, Grips, sights and other goodies are becoming more available everyday. CZUSA is offering the kind of support most companies WISH they could offer. The guns are going up in price but will still be very fairly priced to sell among their competition.

The gun has a reputation and style that is along the lines of the 1911 and Browning Hi Power. Simply put its a classic. It has character that most guns dont have, IMO...save a few. Its accuracy, reliability and ergonomics are among the best youll find.

Rarely anymore do you not see a "CZ" based thread on this board or just about any other for that matter. The guns are gaining popularity and are gaining market support and shares. IMO, its just the start of a very very good time in relation to handguns..............

But Im a little biased too...........:D

Shoot well................

Bah! The real Darksiders don't shoot CZs or Glocks, they shoot Ruger Old Armies and Remington New Models. Now thats a dark side.

You people with your consarned automatics and your dadgum smokeless powders. Bah! I shake my withered fist at you! Back in my day.... :D

Oh, I'm going to fall for the "darkside," but my body is already struggling with this Hi Power Virus. If I go and get the CZ Virus at the same time, well... that may just kill me.

So when I've had enough time to create some sort of an antibody for the HP Virus (is there such a thing???), I'll move on to the CZ virus. For the good of society, of course. :D

Now to start, I'm becoming a 1911 guy, but I have been looking at the CZs and have noticed that it really does matter in what part of the world you live in as to price. I've seen some 75Bs for for less than $400 and some that were approaching $650. Same gun, same finish, etc. My own opinion is it depends on how educated the owner of the shop is.

Some day perhaps I'll think about a CZ75B, for now I'll stick with the 1911.

How do the CZ 97's compare w/ other 45's on the market? As a steel framed, double stack, it seems like it might be a nice pistol. Do I hear this other diarkside calling?

I may be visiting the Czech Republic this summer. If i go, i'm definately visiting the factory.

Does anyone know what you have to go through to get a gun shipped fro a foreign country to an FFL back home? Seriously, i could get a RAMI for peanuts in the Czech Republic. An american dollar goes a long way in that country.

"Let's see how well the RAMI sells against a comparably priced Glock 26. Any bets?"

If it COULD in anyway, shape or form be a fair comparison...I take the bet.

But you, I and everyone else knows it cant be. Glocks timing for their market introduction and being the lowest bidder for all of the LEA's across the nation have taken the Plastic Vantastic world by storm......
Not that they dont deserve the reputation they have...they are stellar guns.

Ill tell you what...We can compare accuracy, reliability, capacity, size etc...bla bla bla. Id put a tiny CZ against any guns that are of the same approx. size...............

The first condition of my comparison is you have to get a Glock that you can carry Hammer Back Safety on :D

Shoot well.

Take me with you. Lucky bas... er...

Figure out how to import a RAMI factory direct and i'll consider it :D

My buddy goes to Prauge at least once a year. I told him i'm going with him this time. Nice country, awesome city, third world pricing. It's a bit expensive getting there, but once you're there it's cheap.

I say give CZ some time. Every year more people find out about them and it's almost always positive. With more owners will come more goodies for them. Folks always talk about CZ handguns but they make some fine rifles also. Check out some rimfire boards and ask about their 22's. Great guns for the money.

Unless the company does something really stupid, their marketshare should increase every year, the product is to good not to.

I am sorry to disappoint you, clubsoda22, but CZUB weapons are more expensive here (in Czech Rep.), than in U.S.. The cheapest CZ-75B cost approx $600 here and P-01 is for $750! Rami is actually for around $650 (factory outlet prices, which are identical to all other places on this small market). "Third world pricing" applies mostly to food, utilities and such, but not always for products.

The Dark Side 97B

Since moving to a gun friendly state I'v been shopping for a 1911A1 clone till I happened on a CZ97B. It fit my hand like a glove and I'm impressed by the fit and finish. Looked up reviews all stated its accuracy was excellent. I'm now planning on buying one when I can find one for a reasonable price the dealer near me wants $659 which I think is really on the high side.

Thanks for the info R-bull. Damn....well, i'll still try to visit the plant. That's odd, i'd expect it to be cheaper without all the import fees.

"it is your . . . . destiny."

"Aaaiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

"Darkside"- area where an Austrian mad scientist's pistols are adored

"Redside"- where former commie pistols rule

:D

If only they made a .357magnum semi... :) I'd imagine it to be a 97 that's a bit fatter, ala the Coonan Model Bs... I'd get one :D then again a 10mm would be nice too.
