That finish looks fantastic! I would be curious if you have any before pictures for comparison.

Here is my woods gun. I have never been a huge Ruger revolver fan until I picked this up on a whim... I still love my S&Ws but this one is the one I carry when I am in the wild.

Well the locking notches are the lesser wear areas when you consider the forcing cone and top strap are cerakoted. Right now, I have around 600 rounds through it; probably 400 being full house 158g jacketed magnum handloads and the top strap has faded where cutting occurs and that is all I have noticed, it has not wore through the cerakote. That stuff is tuff.

Maybe to answer your question more direct, it shows a turn ring, but it is just more shiny than the rest. I will keep you updated if you wish but I see great potential with the cerakote. It could be the oil too, it seems to me like it absorbs oil and holds it, it's just different, you have to try it. If I had any other guns with questionable finishes, I would cerakote them.
Thanks for the info. I had guessed that you had a lot less than 600 thru it so the wear rate is better than I'd imagined. Nice to see results from "real world" use on that finish- got a project in the works and Cerakote is now at the head of the list.
