Just realized, although it's not really a concealed issue, yesterday I helped my dad and friends recover two elk shot the previous day from a canyon in a snowstorm. I was gearing up, with a boning kit, entrenching tool, heavy knife, water, etc, and I had my 1911 in a holster on a belt. At the last minute, I pulled it off and left it in the truck. I came down that canyon on mt butt, sliding and pushing a sled full of quarters. My pockets were full of snow. When I got back to the truck, I thought it was a good thing I hadn't taken the pistol.
