I'm really curious why you/the store didn't call the cops

"You" = a person working for the store who has responsibilty for such things...not him specifically.

1. Call the cops? This is a manager's call. He DID tell the manager. Did she decide to call the cops? No. He then did the next best thing. Going over the manager's head and calling the cops would have gotten him fired for sure.

Manager was with the guy with the knife,he was worried for her saftey .(im assuming) I highly doupt he would get fired for his actions concidering the manager was not in the position to call at that time frame. All he would have had to do is inform the manager he called (worried for her saftey)and let her make the decision to call the police back to cancel.

2. Let the manager deal with the problem alone? Not acceptable to me. I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM HEARING THIS FROM THR MEMBERS. Would you folks have also "let the pilots / stewardesses / airline company" take care of the problem on a hazy morning in September? Besides, he KNOWS this girl. Sure, maybe it's the brass balls talking or the white knight syndrome, but if I sent a girl that I am a friend of out to get slashed up alone while I hid in the back I'd never be able to hold my head up again.
We have a smallish female manager at my store who I wouldn't let confront people alone either. Even if she doesn't want help I find a reason to be nearby when I know she is going to confront somebody.
