Thoughts on RMR bullets??

I was looking to buy a couple thousand bullets and seen this place a while back. What's everyone's thoughts? I'm looking at 115gr RN jacketed and the 230gr RN jacketed. I've been running plated but with these prices, I can get jacketed for dang near the same if not maybe even cheaper! Are they pretty consistent on weight and size? Good to go? Thanks for any replies.

Here's a write up I did on their 124gr match winner bullet. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

As everyone else has said, great product and service from RMR.

I've mainly used plated bullets in 9mm, but I built a 16" AR 9mm carbine and figured I would be pushing the bullets faster than the usual 1200fps rating for plated bullets. RMR had just come out with their 115 fmj, and the price was right, so I ordered them. I have to seat them pretty short for the AR since it has a tight chamber, but I was able to get a good load at 1500fps and was more accurate than anything else I tried. I can plink steel out to 200 yards consistently, and I get very consistent 2.5" groups @ 100 yards. They work so well in that gun, and are priced so competitively, I have not even considered trying anything else.

I still order plated bullets, though, since I have several pet loads (for pistols) already worked up with them. I also like the idea of less lead exposure at the indoor range where my wife and I shoot our pistols.

My question to those that have used them all has anyone noticed any difference between the RMR, Berry's and Xtreme bullets or can the same weights be interchanged w/o a lot of hassle? Such as I have found I can interchange 115gr or 124gr RN 9mm Berry's and Xtreme with no noticeable difference. Same goes for the 200gr 45acp bullets.

While some of the RMR plated bullets are not identical to Xtreme bullets, I've found them close enough that I use them interchangeably for my low-to-midrange loads. If I were loading at the top end of the charge range, I would work them up separately, just to be safe. And, do the plunk test just to make sure, as some of the RMR bullets have a very short ogive (like the 230 Hardcore Match bullet).

Thanks toprudder, all my loads are middle of the road and accurate for what I'm doing. Have found that a change in powder weight of .2gr +/- or a change in COAL of .005" +/- doesn't seem to make much difference in performance. So if target weight is 4.0 gr. of whatever and I drop one in at 4.2 or 3.8gr I cannot tell the difference.

The only bullets I've used are the 124 TC Match Winners and I just recently tried the 115 MPR JHP. Very happy with both. The only trouble I had at first was loading the 115 MPR too long to chamber in my CZ75, but once I shortened them to 1.065'' they functioned flawlessly. The bullets themselves are beautiful. They must polish them in media or something, because when I opened my boxes of 115MPRs, they shined. They look as good as, if not better than, all of the big name bullets, and you can get them for under .09/each! When I run out of this batch of 2000, I'll order more, and I'll probably order some of the 124MPR as well for both 9mm and .357 Sig.

I wonder if they will do a ~90ish grain JHP for the .380?

I like the RMR 9mm MPR JHPs. You do have to seat them a tad more deeply than I like, due to the bullet profile though.
Yes. RMR 124 gr JHP MPR has more rounded cut nose with longer bullet base and requires shorter OAL than more typical 124 gr JHP.

RMR 124 gr MPR - 1.120"-1.125" OAL should work with barrels with longer leade but if your barrel has shorter leade, you may need shorter 1.040" OAL:

- 1.125" fully chambered in older Lone Wolf barrels (with longer leade)
- 1.120" fully chambered in KKM barrel
- 1.040" fully chambered in newer Lone Wolf barrel (with almost no leade)

RMR 124 gr MPR looks like FMJ with tip cut off
