I'm guilty too! A few years ago Cabelas had them so cheap I bought 2. One to shoot and one to look at I guess lol! PS still haven't shot either one I'm slacking off in the shooting and having fun dept. This summer for sure
Okay, guys. I sold my Pietta made S&B last year but I decided to get another one to give it a fair shake. Should be arriving here tomorrow and on Saturday, I'll shoot the thing at the range. While it might not be a particularly accurate reproduction, I've read that they're good shooters. We shall see.
PS: Still looking for the proper nipple wrench for these.
I have to say, I am much more satisfied with this specimen than I was with my old one. The wood grips are quite presentable. They still have a rather odd red tint to them, but the workmanship is far better on these grips. The action and mainspring are quite a bit smoother on this example as well. In general, the fit and finish is a cut above what I got a year or two ago with my first Pietta S&B.
I am excited. I have everything all ready to go shoot the gun tomorrow. I've been kind of out of the cap n' ball loop lately, been focusing on my single-shot pistols. Hopefully the Pietta Spiller & Burr does well tomorrow. I'll be sure to let everyone know!
