So there I was, working late to be ready to teach a CCW class tomorrow (actually today), updating my slides, printing the tests, and pulling the handguns and CCW gear that I'll be using for demonstrations. It's about 1:30 AM, and I'm almost ready to hit the sack. And then...
THE STUPID SAFE WON'T CLOSE!!! I figure some of the guns inside are in the way, so I pull them all out. No joy. I play with the lock, thinking it may have some electronic safety that holds the door open under some obscure conditions. No luck. I feel all around the hinges and door jabs for obstructions. Nothing. I swap out the batteries in the electronic lock. No change.
Now I'm getting where I need to do something, because I don't want to leave all the guns exposed, so I hide them around the house, so there'll be SOME security while I'm out tomorrow. Before I hit the rack, I make one last check...
The smallest allen screw you ever saw was in a corner of the door frame. Damn. Now I have to retrieve everything and stow them in the safe again.
I'm going to bed now. Night-night.
