thanks, i fell into the deal because of a friend letting me know it was for sale(may be several more rifles for sale), the ammo is still sealed in the origional containers. picture of ammo haul.
Now that is a great haul. The highlight for me is the Ruger Old Army (the ammo as well since I use all those calibers). If you are new to the ROA you're in for a treat. They are the best cap and ball revolvers ever made. And the fixed sight versions are in huge demand for cowboy action shooting. If I didn't already have several, I would be completely jealous. Congratulations.
The OId Army is a very strong design -- if you want to shoot it occasionally with metallic cartridge smokeless ammo, check out the conversion cylinders available from these guys: https://www.howellarms.com/ruger-old-army
I have a Pietta Remington with one of these cylinders in .45 ACP (counterbored to take .45 Auto Rim) that, rather to my surprise, shoots accurately and to the fixed sights. I liked it so much that I did a similar rig for a pocket model in .32 S&W.
no magizines, but he said he will look for them. i,m going back over tuesday to try and buy some more ammo, with the gun shows closed up local buys are getting harder to find.
