Did this one in a medium brown and antiqued it to highlight the stamping. Did something a little different with the stamping pattern and a used new stamp that I don't believe I've shown before. The color is a little darker and more uniform than it looks in the pics. I've also started dating my work. Made for a mid-frame Ruger flat-top and pictured with my 5½" Bisley .44Spl.

Looks grea! I LOVE the visual style of a Threeperson's. ... just wish they rode a little bit higher. They're always peeking out from under my cover garment.

That is perfect! I envy your ability to create such a beautiful holster.

How long have you been doing leatherwork? How did you learn how to do this?

It's weird, I saw those pictures and instantly got a strong sensation of smelling leather. Very nice btw...

As usual both holster and gun are sweet! Like the new color and the stamping pattern too.

CraigC I really like your work, but as often happens the guns you show are also a delight. Where did you get the grips?

beautiful, love the color and antiquing! How are you stamping the date, are they store bought number stamps? have to be pretty small, dont think ive seen them that small.
I like the outer stamp alot, really neat
On a three persons is there a hammer thong or snap?

You do know, cuz, that holster would fit MY flattop .44 BH perfectly.
Just sayin'.
It does need to be LH though.
Of course, I could carry it RH and carry my .45 BH in the LH TP you made for me.

Beautiful holster.

Thank you all very much for the kind words!

I farted around with it for a while and got more serious last fall. I've only been doing work for customers since May. I read some books and magazine articles but nothing took the mystery out of the process like Chuck Burrows' DVD's (Wild Rose Trading Co.). I also learned a lot from the free videos at the Tandy website. That one above is about the 21st holster that I've done and I've got another five or six in progress.

Where did you get the grips?
Those are CLC fancy black walnut.

I got a quarter inch alphabet stamp set but really didn't care for the size or font. What I ended up using is a 5/32" set made for stamping steel. Much better result and the size is just right. I found them at Amazon and the set was pretty reasonable.

I was worried the outer stamp might be a little over the top but I think it looks good. Those Barry King stamps make a really clear impression.

A Threepersons can have a thong or a snap strap. That one is setup for a thong.

A strap would be stitched to the inside of the belt loop.

'Tis true.
Those CLC grips are sweet. I sent you pics of mine, didn't I?
Cary is an amazing gripmaker. I wish I could get 2 more sets from him.

What I really like about your TP holster, aside from how well made it is, is how fast the gun clears leather when drawing.
I'm glad I let you talk me into that one for my .45 BH.

Even if the USPS did deliver it with the box looking like they ran over it with the mail truck.

Good thing you pack them as well as you do. Otherwise, the mail gorilla might have damaged my gunleather.

Both holsters you've made for me are perfect in every way.
