I am considering replacing the trigger on my older Remington Remington 700 with a Timney Elite Hunter Trigger. I believe the gun was manufactured in the late 1980s. Does anyone have experience with the Hunter Elite triggers?

Are there any modern triggers for antique rifles? Hot new market! Sorry never put a rigger in anything. Only antiques I ve had, had a need.

The Hunter Elite is better than was the old standby 510, which was better than any trigger Remington ever put into any of their factory 700’s. For the money, it’s a fine trigger, but many folks simply won’t be satisfied by a mid-class trigger, when options like their Calvin Elite or TriggerTech Diamond are on the market. Or a Jewel HVR which is a much better trigger for only $40-50 more than the Hunter Elite.

Thank you for your insight! I have never purchased an aftermarket trigger and have little knowledge of the differences in the various models. I do consider the factory trigger installed on this particular rifle to have an extremely heavy pull. I am hoping to have time this year to use the rifle for deer hunting. Typical hunting distances in my area are under 200 yards.
