Reloading for .22-250 Remington 700 VSSF II. 1:14twist 24in barrel (I believe)

Using bl-c(2) couldn't find any data for tnt. My lee reloading die sheet data says for a 50 Gr jacked bullet starting load is 31.5 max 34.5. can I use these for reloading this bullet? I shot it once at 100 yards and it was dead on a small canister of tanerrite, which isn't saying much cause its like 3 in. or so in diam.... but I didn't have to move my scope at all and its sighted in with 55 gr softpoints rem. core lokt. Any information would be very much appreciated as I am some what new to reloading.

The reason you can't find data for them is, there isn't any.

The TNT bullets are lightly jacketed for less powerful calibers like the .222 Remington.

If you try to push them to top velocity in a 22-250, they will turn into a puff of grey smoke about 30 yards in front of the muzzle when they come apart from the high RPM.

You got the wrong bullets there, unless you down-load them to 3,000 FPS or less.

so they are designed for a .222 traveling 3300 fps? but not a 22-250 of the same fps?

Yes, but.

In a 22-250, 31.5 grains BL-C(2) gives you 3,500, and 34.5 gives you 3,700 plus.

The bullets won't take that much speed & RPM without blowing up in the air.

Even Speer does not list it in 22-250 data because it is not suitable for 22-250 velocity levels.

Trust me, BTDT 40 years ago.

look in your speer manual. there is a chart that shows the max velocities of all the tnt bullets. yours is 3,400 fps. it doesn't matter in what rifle you shoot that bullet. if you go over that velocity it can do exactly what rc said.
