I've been wanting/needing a smaller/lighter CCW than my LW Commanders.

I had pretty much settled on a S&W Shield in .45 ACP.

I went to the local fun store and started handling a variety of pistols. I had previously shot a Sig P365 with the 10 round mags. I've owned and sold a Sig P938, a Glock 36, a stainless Officer's Model, and a New Agent.

The helpful guy at the fun store handed me a Sig P365 with the 12 round mag. The search was over. 13 rounds of 9mm in a very small package. The price was the same as the Shield with the trigger kit.

This will be my first actual CCW without a thumb safety. I never carried the Glock 36.

The side benefit is I can actually use the Sig in my club defensive pistol matches. I can use just about anything but it's nice to minimize reloads.

Now, as soon as the weather gets better I'm off to the range.

All I can add is that the P-365 has become one of my favorite carry pistols, ever. And I'm not a plastic gun, striker-fired kinda guy. But the combination of size, ergonomics, fantastic sights, great trigger and splendid accuracy immediately made me a fan after the first magazine was emptied downrange.

Man, it's awfully tempting to switch from the LC9 to the 365...everyone I have talked to who owns one loves theirs...

Stay safe!

Let us know how you like it.

The 365 is entirely too small for my big mits.

My G26 with extended mag gives me the same capacity but with more to hold onto.

Maybe not "quite as concealable" but I dont care if someone sees a little crease in my shirt. With the way most of society is today I could probably shove a Shockwave down my trousers and nobody would blink an eye.

Congratulations on the new Sig! May it serve you well.

For many years, I had no use for one of them newfangled plastic guns. Didn't even bother to handle them at gun shows. After a few years of carrying a gov't profile 1911, though, I came to realize that there's a place for polymer pistols. Lightweight, simple, reliable . . . What's not to love?

People hate on them quite a bit but it's pretty hard to beat a small polymer autoloader for concealed carry when you consider weight, capacity, reliability, ease of carry and cost. I have a Shield in 9mm that I really like in that role but I'm sure the 365 is great too, especially if they've worked out some of the early kinks.

I got to the range today.

I'm in love with the Sig P365. At 12 yards I could keep all 12 rounds on a 9" paper plate during rapid fire. Exactly what I want/need in a CCW.

That is awesome, and was my experience with the gun when I shot it as well. I was rapid firing down a plate rack at 10 yards without issue, just like my larger guns.

I hear the P365 calling my name, but I have been resisting up until now.
