Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

I bought one of these at Walmart for $25. Actually I think I bought two and I have one in each pack. I use them when I need to but I don't go out of my way to use them.

We bought one of these about a year ago for camping. We haven't used it yet but it has good reviews it's just a little much for a day hike.
I am leaning towards the Sawyer from Wal-Mart! I only have been waiting incase I ended up with some REI rewards to burn up.

Spent the day painting on a ladder. Decided I needed a walk so I ran out to a local trail.

Thats a WE Knives Cybernetic, a blackthorn shillelag, and Custom Knife Factory Sukhoi 4. Both knives are over 3.75” of blade for reference.

Also had my SA XDm Elite 3.8” 10mm.

Got out late and walked back in the dark.

Major Edit:

I decided to hack out a bunch of my original post. I didn’t care for my tone, and this has been a fun thread. Don’t want to change the good vibe.

I’ll just say, I had a run in with some dogs in the dark. It wasn’t good, it scared me badly, but in the end it came out ok. No one was hurt, dog nor human.

A walking stick is handy for a variety of reasons, misbehaving dogs is one of them.

Beautiful evening despite the ruckus.

Today I decided to carry my Glock 36, 45 ACP , in a Versa Max Milt Sparks rig with 230 Remington HP.. A easy stroll out of my South Beach condo which I habitat during the slow week days!

Up Ocean Drive to Collins Ave, seeing many interesting tourists!
Then to the Fontainebleau Hotel, back across the River and then home on Alton Road.

About 8 miles all told, A great and relaxing walk!

How do you like your Colt? I keep going back and forth on whether to get one or not - probably woods bumming gun only. Also what holster? Thanks.
The 3" King Cobra is my new favorite concealed carry revolver. The trigger is spectacular (in my personal opinion), smooth in DA, incredibly crisp in SA. Now, I know there's a wide variety of experiences as far as triggers in the same modern production revolvers, but this is the best out-of-the-box trigger I've ever found in a gun I purchased new. It's fairly lightweight, points well. The brass bead front sight is okay, the accuracy is there. In my opinion, a terrific woods-bumming gun.

https://gbleatherco.com/The holster is a George Bowers. Good stuff. Equal to Galco, but less expensive and great customer service.

I went back to the woods to find my grandson's hat that he lost yesterday while we were "buck hunting ".. it was laying in the only place where he wasn't at arms length from me... the spot where he made a "scrape".
Since I still have a doe tag.....I sat in a treetop and ate some pistachios until I had to get back to the house.
What a wonderful weekend in the woods!
I carried my new(to me) 45-70 Handi-Rifle

I bet that'll give you a respectable whomp.

Last weekend I went to a preserve I've been to a few times, I've never been able to see the stream for reasons. Finally made it to the water, was a nice view. Wish there was a trail that traveled along the stream.

Even knowing what critters inhabit those waters and the shorelines, I would have been tempted to walk the creek bank.
Thank you for sharing your hiking photos. One does not realize what they had around them until it is no longer around them. That is how I am about south Florida. Spent two years working there and never really got out

I went for a hike this Saturday. I did a long Loop in North Cheyenne Canyon and it kicked my ass.

These are my four favorite pictures from the hike. I do not remember where I took this one but it had to be on the way out because it's clearly on the south side of the canyon.

I think this is just farther on the trail from the first picture.
