Might have been true at one time, but with all the home invasions recently...don't count on it. Never hurts to be prepared!

Yep. The soil at my local range is a blend of dirt, gravel, 7.62x39 steel, and .22 brass. Some day it will be economical to skim the top six inches off the place and feed it through a hopper for the metal weight..22LR on the ground at shooting ranges is as common as dirt.
Yeah, it's somewhat common, especially with small calibers like .22LR. At one range I shoot at, finding 5.56 or 9mm, or .40, and even a Simunitions round isn't out of question. The cops use the range for training and qualifications, and some officers loose track of rounds removed from the chamber in with the brass that they also fail to police.I do have an odd question...is it normal to find unused bullets at a range? I found some on the ground, little 22s.
