I have not searched any future then my town & country LOWEs for a set of allen wrenches but for something like a straight/screw driver like shaft. Would like them for lock rings and other applications, (Redding Horn. dillion on my presses. Found and expensive set for 30$ +. just wondering if any one has a preference?

You can get either long shank T handle Allen wrenches or a screwdriver that takes Allen bits .... any place worth calling a hardware store should have either .... I am not real fond of Kobalt tools ... they will work but there are better tools out there for the same price ....

Yes MR.Jim that is w/I have found exactly/cobalt t-handles and the other. I would like to refine it to a set that will probably be a bit more/might have to start searching some but love when I find it from our bunch. Not saying I might end up w/them:confused: . Thank You!

I used screwdrivers daily and wound up with a Snap-On and a MAC driver handles with assorted 1/4" hex. bits (slot, phillips, torx, and allen hex). I usually bought the better (more expensive) bits because most were hardened and lasted longer (I'd go through a couple phillips bits, No. 2, a in a month. Just wore them out so they wouldn't grip screwheads tightly). I also used a bit holder for my power screwdrivers and drills. Kobalt has a driver handle with ratchet that works pretty good, and an assortment of allen bits ain't real expensive...

Myself ... I use a Klein screwdriver(that takes bits) and a large set of Craftsman bits .... Klein tools are usually in the electric section at Lowes....

My Craftsman bits are 10 + years old and find they are hard and will break before rounding like some of the other bits(Kobolt) ... I have no idea about the current Craftsman bits ... I do use Dewalt bits for the same reason in my impact drivers...

Sometimes the long T shank will allow you to get into a tight spot that the screwdriver/bit will not ...

A good source of good tools is Brownells but beware a goos set of gunsmith screwdrivers can get expensive, the same holds true for Allen and Torx wrenches. Locally I like using McMaster Carr Supply for assorted tools like single Allen wrenches.

A true electronic supply house, not Radio Shack, will carry Excellite brand. I have been using a set of theirs for 30 years.

I have craftsman Allen packs from years ago but I do keep the t handle adapter and a set of bits handy. I prefer the t handle as it allows for 2 handed power if I need it but also allows for a lot more precision when I want that. Both come in handy far too regularly...I'm tired of weed eater carb rebuilds...stinkin ethanol gas.

If your messing with gun stuff already one of the wheeler sets are a good buy for the price.
