Top Ten List - Why Revolvers Are Better Than Semi-Auto's -

I'll start (Keep it light. This one is just for fun):

Number 10. My back doesn't get sore picking up all the brass.

Number 9- Before you let a newbie shoot your revolver you don't have to explain the term "limp wristing".

#6 You cant play russian roulette with an Auto, other than that I will keep my Auto.

Not fair theken206 your out of order!

They're not. My two favorite revos have distinct drawbacks: SAA's shoot almighty fast, but load slow. Webleys aren't really up to ACP standard loads. pout.

Number 1: "You're the only guy who shoots a revolver and you rank in with the SSP guys anyways, so I'm moving you outta SSR to SSP." Actual quote. I shoot IDPAish matches with a revolver. Only person who does.

Of course, the reloads are a pain in the &$&. I reload faster than some autochucker guys there but I have reload about twice as often.

It only takes the fingers from one hand plus one to figure out how many rounds it holds."

That was always a big problem with me... that's why I only carry 5-shooters. ;)

# 2 - Revolvers will never need cheap nor expensive hard to find magazines.

If the #1 bad ass in the world, clint eastwood aka dirty harry, carried one its good enough for me.

"I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?"

10. Not dependent on magazines to run
9. Not having to bend over to police brass.
8. Not ammunition sensitive.
7. Greater load offerings (mild to "not mild", target to hunting)
6. Easier to visually "safe" (open cylinder)
5. 3" barreled guns will run every time/ Best Combat Revolver size.
4. History. Proven. Sentimental.
3. Police Trade-Ins are affordable quality firearms.
2. Learning to shoot a revolver double action makes one a better shooter- period.

1. Saves wear and tear on thumbs and fingers not loading mags when kids are
having a great time running through a brick of ammunition.

:)

You'll never have the issue of an aftermarket cylinder that bulges so badly when fully loaded that you can't lock it into place and start shooting. (USA Magazines, I'm calling your name!)

One good answer is if you have to ask, or don't know, "why" you probably wouldn't understand.

Shoot through Pocket

With a Centennial or shrouded hammer you can let er rip right through the pocket. Talk about your concealed weapon.

Try that with your KelTec, NAA, or Rohrbaugh.
